JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Career Counsellor to guide students from Classes 8 to 12 through self-discovery, academic stream selection, and higher education planning.

The selected candidate will work across educational institutions managed by Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Vidyalaya Educational Institution. The role involves conducting psychometric assessments, providing career and entrance examination guidance and collaborating with students, parents and teachers to develop practical and achievable career pathways.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTED OUTCOMES

- Student Career Counselling: Provide individualised career guidance and counselling to students from Classes 8 to 12.
- Psychometric Assessments: Administer, analyse, and interpret aptitude tests and psychometric assessments to identify students' interests, strengths, and abilities.
- Career Awareness Programmes: Plan and conduct career awareness workshops, seminars, and interactive guidance sessions.
- Academic Stream Selection: Guide students in selecting appropriate academic streams based on their interests, aptitude, and future career aspirations.
- Higher Education & Entrance Guidance: Provide information and guidance on college admissions, higher education opportunities, scholarships, and national-level entrance examinations.




- Parent & Teacher Collaboration: Conduct career guidance meetings involving students, parents, and teachers.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain student counselling records, assessment reports, career plans, and regular progress updates.
- Follow-up & Monitoring: Track students' career development and provide continuous guidance throughout their academic journey.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

- Solid knowledge of aptitude testing and psychometric assessments.
- Understanding of higher education pathways, college admissions, and competitive entrance examinations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and teachers.
- Strong active listening, analytical thinking, and empathetic counselling skills.
- Excellent documentation, report preparation, and follow-up skills.
- Passion for student mentorship, career development, and holistic growth.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Qualification:

- Master's degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Career Guidance, or a relevant allied field.

Experience:

- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in career counselling.
- Prior experience working in CBSE, ICSE, or Matriculation schools will be an added advantage.
- Practical experience in psychometric assessments, career planning, and higher education guidance is preferred.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
