Role Summary

We are looking for a hands-on technology leader to own and drive the Organisation's entire technology function, including its mobile application, website, backend infrastructure, QA and DevOps. This is an execution-oriented role requiring a robust backend engineering background, with approximately 20% hands-on technical involvement and 80% leadership and team management.The individual must have strong experience in building, developing, maintaining and scaling technology products, with a deep understanding of mobile applications and backend systems. They should be capable of working directly on the Organisation's existing app and technology stack, reviewing and writing code, troubleshooting technical issues, driving architecture decisions and ensuring seamless product performance.

Responsibilities

- Technology Leadership: Lead and manage the organisation's overall technology function, including mobile applications, website, backend engineering, QA and DevOps.
- Hands-on Engineering: Remain actively involved in backend development, code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting and technical problem-solving.



Work directly on the organisation's existing mobile application and technology infrastructure.
- Application Development & Management: Oversee the development, maintenance, enhancement and scalability of mobile applications and web platforms, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
- Technology Architecture: Drive technology architecture, system design and engineering decisions to build scalable, reliable and secure technology solutions.
- Delivery & Execution: Own end-to-end engineering delivery, sprint planning, resource allocation, release management, timelines and quality assurance.
- Backend & Infrastructure Management: Oversee backend systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, DevOps and system integrations.
- Quality & Production Stability: Establish QA processes, monitor application performance, manage production issues, lead incident response and ensure system reliability.
- Information Security: Drive cybersecurity practices, vulnerability management, security compliance and readiness for ISO 27001 certification.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop engineering teams, establish technical ownership, define team structures and build a high-performing engineering organisation.
