Our India-based team plays a key role in keeping our US operations accurate, compliant and responsive.

About the Role

Techprojects is hiring an experienced HR Director to lead our US human resources function. You will own the full employee and consultant lifecycle – onboarding, payroll, benefits, immigration, compliance and offboarding – and lead a team that keeps it accurate and on time.

What You'll Do

• Onboarding: Offer letters, agreements, background checks, I-9/tax forms, client clearances, payroll and benefits enrollment – no one starts with open items.

• Payroll: Oversee multi-state payroll on ADP for employees and consultants; review tax filings, W-2s and corrections; stay audit-ready.

• Benefits & Insurance: Manage medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and workers comp, plus client-required insurance (GL, crime bond) with no coverage gaps; lead renewals and open enrollment.

• Annual Analysis: Prepare a yearly comparison of carriers, plans and payroll/PEO providers with clear recommendations to leadership.





• Immigration: Oversee H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT and CPT; track expirations, support LCA/petition filings, maintain I-9 and E-Verify.

• Offboarding: Final pay, perks end dates, access removal, exit interviews and timely client/vendor notices.

• Operations & Leadership: Maintain policies, handbook, HRIS data and leadership reports; manage PEOs, brokers and vendors; lead and develop the HR team.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field.

• 10+ years of USA IT Consulting & Staffing HR experience, including 5+ years leading a team.

• Leadership experience – to manage 3-5 HR Resources

• Must have ADP Payroll experience – complete understanding of employee tax documents and reports.

• Hands-on onboarding experience, including background checks, I-9 and clearance processes.

• Hands-on multi-state payroll experience, including payroll tax and corrections.

• Must know employee benefits eligibility laws and 1099 worker benefits eligibility rules for NY and NJ.

• Experience managing employee benefits and insurance with brokers and carriers.

• Proven experience preparing annual cost and coverage comparisons with recommendations.

• Working knowledge of US immigration – H-1B, OPT and CPT.

• Robust knowledge of US employment law and compliance; excellent communication and analytical skills.
