R&D; / Engineering Manager (Life Sciences/Pharma Domain)

Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced R&D; Manager to lead the engineering organization responsible for existing enterprise products and new product and technology initiatives. This role combines strong technical judgment with people leadership, delivery ownership, and close collaboration with Product Management and US leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own engineering execution across existing products and new initiatives, balancing customer commitments, product enhancements, modernization, and innovation.

- Hire, develop, and retain strong engineering talent; lead technical managers and teams across software development, architecture, and quality engineering.

- Translate product and business priorities into executable engineering plans with clear scope, staffing, timelines, dependencies, and delivery commitments.

- Ensure reliable delivery of secure, scalable, highly available enterprise software through sound architecture, engineering standards, code quality, testing, CI/CD, and release practices.

- Work closely with Product Management, US leadership, Customer Support, and other stakeholders to understand priorities, resolve delivery challenges, and improve customer outcomes.





- Evaluate and guide the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI/ML and Data Analytics, to add practical capabilities to our products and services and support new initiatives.

- Strengthen engineering capability, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while proactively identifying and resolving technical, delivery, and resource risks.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 8+ years of software product development experience, including significant experience leading multiple engineering teams and hiring technical talent.

- Strong understanding of enterprise software architecture and up-to-date product development technologies, including Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Angular, React, microservices, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and modern engineering practices.

- Strong understanding of security, scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability required to build and operate enterprise-grade software products.

- Good understanding of AI/ML and Data Analytics technologies, with the ability to evaluate and guide how these capabilities can be incorporated into products and services to deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes.

- Experience in a product-based software company is strongly preferred.

- You should bring strong technical depth, sound engineering judgment, and a track record of building teams and delivering secure, scalable software products with quality, predictability, and accountability.
