Grade Manager

Location Mumbai (US-hours / night-shift overlap)

Function US Supply Chain – Category: Services

Role purpose:

Evaluate and onboard cost-effective,

high-service-level US General Contractors (GCs) and

service vendors, and manage their day-to-day performance.

Key Responsibilities

GC sourcing and onboarding

- Find and pre-qualify US GCs and specialist trades by metro, trade and project size.
- Run onboarding checks: licensing, insurance/COI, safety record, financials and references.
- Maintain the approved vendor database and coverage by market and trade.

Bids and commercials

- Issue RFQs, collect and level bids, and recommend awards.
- Maintain rate benchmarks by metro; share current service costs with Estimation.
- Support MSA and rate-card negotiations.

Vendor performance and relationships

- Track vendor SLAs and scorecards; follow up on delays, quality issues and escalations from Projects.
- Classify GCs as Strategic, Growth or Emerging, and keep the GC evaluation tracker current.
- Be the day-to-day contact for assigned GCs; track joint growth plan actions and referrals.

Compliance and reporting





- Keep vendor insurance, licences and MSAs valid and on file.
- Report weekly on onboarding pipeline, bids, costs and vendor performance.

Qualifications and Experience

- B.E./B.Tech; Civil Engineering preferred.
- MBA preferred.
- 3–5 years in construction or fit-out procurement, contracts or vendor management; US GC exposure

preferred.

- Working knowledge of US construction practice: licensing, COIs, lien waivers.

Skills

- Bid levelling, cost comparison and negotiation.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel.
- Explicit written and verbal communication with US vendors; willing to work US hours.

- Internal: Lead – Services Category, US Projects, Estimation, Finance, Legal, Control Tower.
- External: General Contractors, specialist trades, insurance brokers.
