We are hiring an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in Mumbai to lead the technology and product engineering of our UCaaS, CCaaS and CPaaS platforms. You will own platform architecture, software development, engineering teams and the overall technology roadmap. We are looking for a product-platform technology leader, not a telecom infrastructure, NOC, wholesale voice or carrier-routing CTO.

Role & responsibilities:

Product & Platform Development:

Lead end-to-end development of UCaaS, CCaaS and CPaaS software platforms.

Oversee cloud PBX, contact center, dialers, IVR, ACD, SMS platforms and communication APIs.

Manage development of scalable, multi-tenant SaaS applications.

Drive product innovation, platform upgrades and recent feature development.

Own platform architecture, source code and engineering quality.

Technology Architecture & Engineering:

Design scalable, secure and highly available cloud communication systems.

Lead engineering across SIP, WebRTC, VoIP, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio and API-based communications.

Oversee backend, frontend, DevOps, cloud infrastructure and database architecture.

Ensure performance, reliability, security and scalability.

Manage integrations with CRM, ERP, third-party platforms and communication providers.

AI & Automation:

Lead integration of Agentic AI, AI voice agents, conversational AI and intelligent IVR.

Build AI-powered contact center features such as call transcription, analytics and automated workflows.

Drive automation across voice, SMS, WhatsApp and omnichannel platforms.

Engineering Leadership:

Build and manage software development, QA, DevOps and product engineering teams.

Define technology roadmaps, engineering processes and delivery priorities.





Work closely with product management and business leadership.

Own delivery timelines, budgets, technical hiring and engineering performance.

Lead architectural decisions and resolve complex technical challenges.

Preferred candidate profile:

12-20+ years in software engineering and technology leadership.

Currently working as CTO, VP Engineering or Head of Engineering in a company that develops UCaaS, CCaaS or CPaaS products.

Proven experience building and scaling commercial cloud communication platforms.

Strong understanding of SaaS architecture, microservices, APIs, cloud infrastructure and real-time communications.

Technical expertise in SIP, WebRTC, VoIP, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio or similar technologies.

Experience managing large engineering teams and delivering enterprise-grade software products.

Understanding of AI-powered communication platforms and automation technologies.

Must be based in Mumbai or willing to relocate and work from Mumbai.

We strongly prefer candidates from companies that develop and own their communication software products: UCaaS platform providers, CCaaS / cloud contact center software companies, CPaaS platform providers, cloud telephony SaaS product companies and omnichannel communication software companies.

Please note: candidates whose experience is limited to telecom carrier operations, wholesale voice trading, NOC, network infrastructure, switch monitoring or traditional IT infrastructure management will not be considered.
