Overview To lead and oversee credit underwriting and portfolio risk management for Commercial Vehicle (CV), Construction Equipment (CE), and related lending businesses. The role is responsible for ensuring sound credit decisions, maintaining portfolio quality, driving policy compliance, mentoring credit teams, supporting business growth, and strengthening risk management practices across regions.

Role & responsibilities

- Lead credit evaluation and underwriting of high-value and complex proposals.
- Drive adherence to credit policies, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee portfolio quality, delinquency trends, and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Provide strategic guidance to regional credit teams and business stakeholders.
- Review and approve credit recommendations within delegated authority limits.
- Monitor sectoral, market, and borrower risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead credit policy implementation and process improvement initiatives.
- Develop and mentor credit managers, analysts, and underwriting teams.
- Ensure timely credit decisions while maintaining robust risk controls.
- Collaborate with business, collections, legal, and operations teams for effective portfolio management.
- Review stressed accounts and recommend restructuring, recovery, or exit strategies where required.
- Support management through portfolio analytics, MIS reporting, and risk insights.

Preferred candidate profile





- Strong knowledge of Commercial Vehicle, Construction Equipment, and related lending products.
- Expertise in credit appraisal, financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment, and risk evaluation.
- Deep understanding of corporate, SME, partnership firm, and proprietor business models.
- Knowledge of credit policies, regulatory guidelines, and risk management frameworks.
- Ability to evaluate industry, market, and sector-specific risks.
- Robust portfolio management and credit monitoring skills.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, MIS, and portfolio analytics.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making abilities.
- Professional qualification such as MBA (Finance), CA, CMA, or equivalent preferred.
- 1215 years of relevant experience in Credit, Risk Management, or Underwriting, with team management exposure.
