Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner with expertise in GIS-based transportation planning and road network development for large-scale urban development, township, industrial and regional master plan projects. The candidate will be responsible for planning and designing integrated transportation networks, conducting spatial and accessibility analysis, and preparing GIS-based transportation layouts, technical drawings and planning reports in coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Transportation & Road Network Planning

- Prepare comprehensive transportation and mobility master plans for urban, township, industrial and regional development projects.
- Develop GIS-based existing and proposed road network plans.
- Plan road hierarchy, including expressways, arterial, sub-arterial, collector and local roads.
- Identify road alignments, connectivity, intersections and Right of Way (ROW) requirements.
- Assess existing road infrastructure and identify gaps in network connectivity.

2. GIS-Based Planning & Spatial Analysis

- Conduct GIS-based spatial analysis for road connectivity, accessibility and proximity.
- Integrate transportation networks with proposed land use, zoning, population density and development plans.
- Prepare road network layouts using ArcGIS, QGIS and AutoCAD.
- Develop transportation thematic maps,



spatial datasets and infrastructure databases.
- Perform network and accessibility analysis for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional developments.

3. Public & Sustainable Transportation Planning

- Plan public transportation corridors, bus routes, metro connectivity and multimodal transport hubs.
- Identify suitable locations for bus terminals, bus stops, parking facilities and transport interchange facilities.
- Develop pedestrian pathways, cycling tracks and Non-Motorized Transport (NMT) networks.
- Ensure seamless integration of different transportation modes within the master plan.

4. Traffic Assessment & Infrastructure Planning

- Assess existing and future transportation requirements based on projected population and land-use development.
- Support traffic demand assessment, trip generation analysis and Traffic Impact Studies (TIS).
- Evaluate road capacity, accessibility and future network requirements.
- Recommend transportation infrastructure improvements to support planned development.

5. Technical Documentation & Coordination

- Prepare GIS-based transportation maps, technical drawings, planning reports, technical notes and presentations.
- Coordinate with urban planners, infrastructure engineers,



GIS specialists and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Review master plan proposals to ensure adequate road connectivity and transportation infrastructure.
- Incorporate client feedback and statutory authority requirements into revised transportation plans.
- Support the preparation of concept master plans, detailed master plans and final statutory submission drawings.

6. Standards & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure transportation plans comply with applicable IRC guidelines, urban planning standards and relevant Development Control Regulations (DCR).
- Review road layouts and transportation proposals for compliance with applicable planning norms and project requirements.

Required Technical Skills
- Proficiency in ArcGIS and/or QGIS.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD for road network layouts and technical drawings.
- Understanding of GIS-based spatial analysis and network analysis.
- Knowledge of road hierarchy, ROW planning, road connectivity and transportation infrastructure.
- Understanding of urban mobility, public transportation and NMT planning.
- Familiarity with IRC guidelines, urban development norms and master planning standards.
- Positive report writing, presentation and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in GIS-based transportation planning for master plan and large-scale development projects.
- Exposure to urban development, township, industrial and regional planning assignments.
- Experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary planning and engineering teams.
