Tech Lead / Architect – Windows Desktop Automation

About the role

You will lead the design and delivery of automation for Windows desktop applications, including the CI pipelines that run it. The work sits close to industrial and engineering software, so you will deal with real desktop apps, not just web front ends.

What you will do

- Own the automation architecture for Windows desktop applications, from framework choice to how tests run in CI
- Design and build desktop application components where the product needs them
- Set up and maintain Jenkins pipelines for build, test and release
- Write Python and shell scripts to remove manual steps from build, deployment and test runs
- Review code and test design across the team, and coach engineers on good automation practice
- Work with customers and product owners to turn requirements into a clear technical plan and estimate

What you will need

- 8+ years in software development,



with at least 3 years leading a team or a technical workstream
- Strong hands-on Python
- Proven experience automating Windows desktop applications
- Experience building desktop applications (for example WPF, WinForms or Qt)
- Jenkins pipeline setup and maintenance, including pipeline-as-code
- Shell scripting on Windows (PowerShell or batch) and Linux (bash)

Valuable to have

- pywinauto, FlaUI or WinAppDriver
- C# / .NET
- Familiarity with industrial IT/OT protocols (OPC UA, MQTT) or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments
- Experience with industrial, automotive or engineering software
- Use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude in daily work

Education

B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics or a related field, or MCA
