Designation: Team Maintenance - Civil & Structural

Job Brief: JSW Steel Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced qualified to lead and manage the maintenance activities within the Civil & Structural domain of our Iron Ore Processing department. The role demands a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in civil and structural engineering, capable of ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all infrastructure and structural assets. The ideal candidate will oversee maintenance planning, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives, aligning with JSW Steel’s commitment to operational excellence and sustainable manufacturing practices.

This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to support uninterrupted production and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies for civil and structural assets within the iron ore processing facilities to maximize equipment uptime and structural integrity.
- Lead and supervise a team of maintenance engineers and technicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and condition assessments of buildings, foundations, conveyors, and other structural components to identify potential risks and maintenance needs.
- Coordinate with production, safety, and engineering departments to schedule maintenance activities minimizing operational disruptions.
- Manage budgeting, resource allocation, and procurement of materials and services related to civil and structural maintenance projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing maintenance data, failure modes, and root causes to enhance asset reliability and reduce downtime.




- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, environmental guidelines, and company policies related to civil and structural maintenance.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation on maintenance activities, asset conditions, and project progress for senior management review.
- Implement and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs using industry best practices and modern technologies.
- Support the design and execution of structural modifications and upgrades to meet evolving operational requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in maintenance management within the manufacturing or heavy industry sector, specifically in iron ore processing or steel manufacturing environments.
- Professional certification in maintenance management or structural engineering (e.g., PMP, PE) is an advantage.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale civil and structural maintenance projects with strong leadership capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards such as IS, ASTM, and relevant safety regulations.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and asset management software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills tailored to complex industrial settings.
