Talent Acquisition Lead – US Staffing & Global Data/AI Hiring

Location: India (Hybrid options available)

Target Time Zone: Overlap with US Eastern (EST) / Pacific (PST) and India Standard Time (IST)

Employment Type: Full time

Department: Human Resources / Talent Acquisition

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Talent Acquisition Lead based in India to spearhead our end-to-end recruitment for high-demand Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) roles across North America (US and Canada) and international markets.

In this role, you will lead full-lifecycle recruitment, build active talent pipelines, and partner closely with hiring managers and cross-functional teams. You must bring deep familiarity with US/Canada employment models, cross-border immigration frameworks, and technical talent acquisition—with a strong preference for candidates with direct exposure to the Databricks partner ecosystem or enterprise Data & AI landscape.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic US & Global Recruitment

- Lead end-to-end talent acquisition lifecycle across the US and Canada (full-time W2, 1099, C2C, subcontracting, and Canadian T4/Corporation models).
- Headhunt, evaluate, and close specialized engineering, architecture, and consulting talent in Data Platform Engineering, Machine Learning, and Generative AI.
- Adapt sourcing channels to North American standards, utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Kaggle, technical communities, and niche AI networks.

2. Technical Specialization & Databricks Ecosystem Focus
- Screen and assess candidates against real-world competencies across:
- Databricks Stack: Lakehouse Architecture, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake,

Databricks SQL, MLflow, Spark/PySpark.
- Data & Cloud Platforms: Azure Databricks, AWS EMR/Databricks, GCP BigQuery/Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow.
- AI & Machine Learning: LLM deployment/fine-tuning, LangChain, RAG pipelines, MLOps, vector databases, and enterprise AI agents.
- Partner with engineering leadership to develop technical evaluation rubrics, calibrated intake briefs, and market mapping.

3. Immigration & Compliance Oversight
- Evaluate candidate work authorization statuses across North American jurisdictions:
- US: H-1B (transfers, cap-exempt, concurrent), OPT/CPT, STEM OPT, L-1, TN visas (USMCA/NAFTA), E-3, O-1, and Green Card/PERM processing stages.
- Canada: Express Entry, LMIA-exempt work permits (Intra-Company Transferee, CUSMA/USMCA), Canadian PR, and Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP).
- Coordinate closely with legal/immigration counsel to ensure smooth onboarding, tax alignment, and labor standard compliance across state and provincial levels.

4. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, engineering directors, and practice leaders on compensation benchmarks, talent availability, and hiring timelines.
- Mentor junior recruiters/sourcers in advanced boolean techniques,

candidate engagement, and conversion strategies.
- Track and report recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, offer acceptance rate, source effectiveness, and pipeline diversity) via modern ATS platforms (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever, Workday).

Qualifications & Experience

Required

- 7–12+ years of progressive recruitment experience, with at least 4+ years focused on US/Canada technical staffing operating from India.
- Demonstrated expertise hiring Data & AI talent, including Data Engineers, Lakehouse Architects, ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and Solutions Architects.
- Thorough knowledge of US and Canada immigration and visa mechanics (H-1B, TN, OPT, E-3, LMIA, Work Permits) and North American engagement structures (W2, C2C, 1099, T4).
- Strong understanding of rate negotiations, gross margins, and salary benchmarking across US and Canadian tech hubs (Bay Area, Seattle, New York, Austin, Toronto, Vancouver).
- Excellent verbal, written, and cross-cultural communication skills with proven success managing senior stakeholders in North America.
- Ability to work aligned or overlapping hours with US/Canada business hours.

Preferred:
- Direct experience hiring within the Databricks partner ecosystem, Databricks SI/consulting partners, or enterprise cloud competitors (Snowflake, hyperscaler data practices).
- Prior background managing offshore-to-onshore staffing delivery models and cross-border transfers (e.g., India to US/Canada L-1/ICT).
- Hands-on experience with modern recruiting tech stacks (Greenhouse, Gem, LinkedIn Recruiter, SeekOut, HackerRank).
