Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Staff Software Engineer role based in Bengaluru South.

The Staff Software

Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services and payment processing systems that power PayGlocal’s cross-border payment platform.

Responsibilities include architecting scalable and secure systems, writing high-quality production code, conducting code reviews, and mentoring engineers across multiple teams. The role involves collaborating with product, infrastructure,



and security teams to deliver new features, optimize performance, and improve reliability of high-volume payment flows. The engineer will also participate in technical decision-making, drive best engineering practices, and help evolve the platform’s architecture to support future growth.

Qualifications

- Robust foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and systems design.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development and large-scale Software Development.
- Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) in one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, Go, Python, C++).
- Experience architecting and operating distributed, high-availability systems and APIs.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, microservices, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of security, reliability, and performance considerations in financial or high-transaction environments.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in payments, fintech, or transaction processing systems is a strong plus.
