The role

You will work with our marketing team to run Great Lakes' social media across LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and X: planning, creating and growing the channels day to day. This is a hands-on role. You will write, shoot, edit and publish yourself, working with students, faculty and the marketing team to turn campus life and academic work into content people actually stop for.

We want a practitioner. Your own social media presence is part of your application, because it shows us how you think about content. And you will have done this for a brand before, with growth you can show in numbers.

What you will do

- Plan and maintain the monthly social media content calendar with the marketing team, aligned to admissions, program marketing, brand and thought-leadership goals.
- Create content hands-on: reels and short-form video, carousels, static posts, stories, copy and captions. Brief designers or agencies when needed, but you can produce and ship on your own.
- Grow the accounts: reach, engagement, community, and new formats or platforms where the audience fits. Follower growth matters, but so do engagement quality, watch time, shares, and the traffic and enquiries that social drives.
- Run the community: reply to comments and messages, surface questions worth answering publicly, and route admissions or media queries to the right team.
- Help bring students, alumni,



faculty and leadership into the content pipeline, in coordination with the marketing team.
- Track performance: review results weekly and share regular reports on what worked, what did not, and what to try next.
- Work with creators: student creator programs, and influencer or podcast collaborations where they fit the brand.
- Keep pace with platform changes and trends, and judge which ones suit an institution's voice.

What we are looking for

- A personal social media presence you are proud of: active, original and consistent on at least one or two platforms. We are not counting your followers; we are reading your content.
- Experience running social media for a brand, in-house or agency-side.
- Evidence of scaling: at least one brand account you grew meaningfully, with numbers beyond followers, such as reach, engagement rate, video views, community growth, or leads and conversions. Be ready to show the baseline and the outcome.
- Strong writing: clean, sharp English for both LinkedIn long-form and a ten-word hook.
- Hands-on production skills: comfortable shooting on a phone and editing short video (CapCut, Premiere Pro or similar), and making clean statics and carousels (Canva or Figma).
- Working knowledge of social analytics and scheduling tools (native platform insights, plus tools like Hootsuite, Buffer or Sprout).
- A feel for institutional brands. Education-sector experience is a plus, not a must. Discretion with students and leadership is a must.
