Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient transport planning professional to lead and contribute to urban mobility and transport planning projects. The role requires solid expertise in transport modelling, quantitative analysis, project management, client coordination, and team leadership.

The selected candidate will lead assigned project components, develop evidence-based transport strategies, manage technical deliverables, and coordinate with government agencies, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality planning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

A. Transport Planning & Technical Analysis

- Lead and contribute to Comprehensive Mobility Plans (CMPs), public transport planning, bus route rationalization, Traffic Impact Assessments (TIAs), and urban mobility studies.
- Conduct travel demand assessments, travel pattern analysis, network planning, scenario development, and policy evaluations.
- Evaluate existing transport systems to improve accessibility, connectivity, operational efficiency, and sustainable mobility.
- Integrate transport planning principles with land use planning, infrastructure development, and multimodal mobility strategies.
- Develop evidence-based and implementable planning recommendations based on technical findings.

B. Transport Modelling & Quantitative Analysis
- Develop, calibrate, validate, and apply multimodal strategic transport models using PTV VISUM.
- Conduct demand forecasting, network performance assessments, scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis, and policy evaluations.
- Perform traffic microsimulation studies using PTV VISSIM, as required.
- Process and interpret large transport datasets,



travel demand matrices, traffic survey data, and model outputs.
- Use Python, Excel VBA, R, or SQL for data processing, scripting, model post-processing, and workflow automation.

C. Project Management & Business Development
- Independently manage assigned project components, including work plans, activity schedules, resource requirements, and timelines.
- Coordinate with clients, government agencies, urban local bodies (ULBs), and consultants for project execution and finalization of deliverables.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of technical assignments.
- Contribute to technical proposals, Expressions of Interest (EOIs), and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Support business development initiatives through technical inputs and project-related documentation.

D. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Guide, supervise, and mentor junior planners and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Allocate tasks, review technical outputs, and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Prepare, review, and finalize high-quality technical reports and presentations.
- Present technical findings and project updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.




- Maintain effective stakeholder relationships throughout project execution.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory Postgraduate Qualification

- M.Plan. in Transport Planning or Traffic Engineering from a recognized university.

Undergraduate Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Planning (B.Plan), Civil Engineering (B.Tech), or Architecture (B.Arch).

Essential Experience

- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in transport planning consultancy.
- Strong hands-on experience in transport modelling, transport planning studies, and quantitative analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage project components and coordinate technical deliverables.

Desirable Experience

- Experience working on public-sector assignments involving government agencies, urban local bodies, or development authorities.
- Experience in public transport planning, Comprehensive Mobility Plans, Traffic Impact Assessments, and urban mobility projects.
- Experience in client coordination, proposal preparation, and mentoring junior team members.
