About The Role - As a Senior Manager – Sales, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing sales performance, building a high-performing sales team, and ensuring an exceptional learner experience. The role requires solid ownership of sales targets, funnel management, team productivity, and execution of scalable sales strategies across upGrad’s business.

Key Responsibilities -

- Revenue & Target Ownership: Own monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned business, ensuring consistent achievement and growth.
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute sales strategies across lead generation, qualification, counselling, conversion, and enrolment to maximize revenue.
- Team Management: Lead, coach, mentor, and motivate a team of sales managers and/or sales executives to deliver business outcomes.
- Sales Funnel Management: Monitor the complete sales funnel, identify bottlenecks, improve conversion rates, and ensure disciplined follow-up.
- Performance Management: Establish individual and team KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews,



and drive corrective actions.
- Lead & CRM Management: Ensure effective lead allocation, tracking, follow-ups, CRM hygiene, and accurate sales reporting.
- Customer Engagement: Ensure the team understands learner needs, recommends relevant upGrad programs, and maintains a high-quality counselling experience.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Product, Program, Finance, and Student Success teams to improve acquisition, conversion, learner experience, and business outcomes.
- Sales Training & Capability Building: Drive coaching, product training, objection handling, and sales best practices.
- Data & Business Reviews: Use sales dashboards and performance data to identify trends, forecast revenue, and present actionable insights to leadership.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve sales productivity, reduce leakage, strengthen processes, and build scalable sales mechanisms.
- Market Intelligence: Track competitor activity, learner trends, and customer feedback to strengthen sales strategy.

Desired Skills & Experience -

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field; MBA is preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in sales, preferably in Edtech, Education, Consumer Internet, BFSI, SaaS, or other high-volume consumer businesses.
- Demonstrated experience managing sales teams and delivering revenue targets.
- Strong understanding of sales funnels, conversion metrics, forecasting, CRM, and performance management.
- Excellent people-management, coaching, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment with high ownership and accountability.
- Understanding of the Indian education and learner ecosystem will be an advantage.
