About Gurucul
Security work is changing on two fronts. AI is doing more of the work in security operations, and businesses deploying AI agents face new questions about what those agents can access and how they behave. Security teams still need to see what’s developing, decide what deserves attention, and act before a small problem becomes a reliable one. We’ve modeled the behavior of users and entities since 2010 and helped pioneer user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA). Our portfolio spans security operations, insider risk, and AI risk. We need a product marketing team that can explain why it matters to the people who buy and use it.
Role Summary
Good product content helps someone understand a problem, see a better way to solve it, and decide what to do next. You’ll write that content for Gurucul, and you’ll set up the processes that help a small product marketing team ship it on time. You’ll work across our portfolio, turning customer insight, product knowledge, and positioning into material for buyers, sellers, customers, and partners. The work might be an insider risk eBook, a launch presentation, or a guide that helps a seller handle a tough competitive question. You’ll take each project from the first idea through research, writing, review, and delivery.
Most of your time will go to content. You’ll also run the team’s operations, keeping priorities, launches, and materials organized and up to date. This is a senior individual contributor role with room to shape what we produce and how we produce it. We’re looking for someone who writes exceptionally well, takes initiative, and makes the people around them more effective.
Why join this team
- Explain a real shift in security. Help buyers make sense of what’s changing in AI, security operations, and insider risk.
- Work close to the product. Product Marketing sits in Gurucul’s Product Strategy organization alongside Product Management and the Training and Development team. You’ll partner directly with product and company leaders and see your content used in campaigns, customer conversations, and live deals.
- Shape how the team works. Help build the content and operating processes our product marketing team will rely on as it grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Create the content buyers need. Solution briefs, eBooks, white papers, product articles, presentations, and web content. Start from the audience’s questions and connect Gurucul’s capabilities to them.
- Write persuasive, credible copy. Build each piece around an argument a skeptical security buyer will follow:
the problem they recognize, why current approaches fall short, and what Gurucul does differently. Back every claim with evidence you can source, such as product testing, customer results or third-party research, and cut anything you can’t support. Write for the person reading, whether that’s a CISO skimming a one-pager or an analyst working through a white paper, and make the next step obvious. Hold your own drafts and other people’s to that standard.
- Find the story. Interview customers and internal experts, sit in on demos, and review market research and field feedback. Ask good follow-up questions, then turn what matters into a clear narrative.
- Put our messaging to work. Turn positioning, buyer guidance, and differentiation from product marketing leadership into content. Flag gaps or inconsistencies, and suggest better ways to explain the product.
- Equip sellers and partners. Create and maintain pitch decks, sales plays, FAQs, battlecards, and objection-handling guides. Use field feedback to make them more useful in real conversations.
- Track the competition. Follow competitor announcements, product launches and market trends across SIEM, insider risk and AI risk. Keep our differentiators sharp as the market shifts, and help produce our weekly competitive newsletter for sellers.
- Carry launch content to delivery. Coordinate asset plans, contributors, dependencies, and reviews for launches and major releases. Keep people informed and fix problems before they put a date at risk.
- Run product marketing operations. Manage the team’s projects and run the GTM launch process, with clear owners, timelines and readiness checks for every launch. Own the content roadmap, intake process, status reporting, and asset library. Keep assets current as products and messaging change, help leadership weigh priorities against capacity, and set clear handoffs to Marketing for publishing and promotion.
- Measure what works. Track content usage, field feedback, and whatever engagement and pipeline data is available. Recommend what to improve, repurpose, retire, or create next.
- Use AI responsibly. Apply AI and automation to research, production, and coordination.
You own the accuracy, quality, and originality of everything you deliver.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in B2B product marketing, content marketing, or a closely related role, with substantial experience writing about cybersecurity or complex enterprise software.
- Experience working for a US-based company or directly supporting US product marketing, sales, and leadership teams.
- Excellent written and spoken English. You write polished content for US and global enterprise buyers, lead interviews with subject matter experts, and explain complex ideas plainly and precisely.
- A portfolio of work you wrote yourself, such as white papers, eBooks, solution briefs, or sales presentations, aimed at different stages of an enterprise buying process.
- The technical curiosity to learn a product deeply, ask informed questions, and recognize when a claim needs evidence.
- A record of independently running content or launch projects with many contributors. You keep work moving, sort out unclear requirements, and raise tradeoffs early.
- Strong editorial judgment. You can tighten an argument, spot missing context, and edit for clarity without losing substance.
- Hands-on experience with project management tools, shared content repositories, and reporting. You add structure people will actually use.
- At least two hours of daily overlap with US Pacific business hours.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
- Familiarity with SIEM, security operations, insider risk, behavioral analytics, or security for AI.
- Experience setting up content workflows, launch processes, or asset management at a growing company.
- Experience supporting channel partners or MSSPs.
- Examples of using AI or workflow automation to improve quality, turnaround time, or team capacity.
Role Details
- Location: Hybrid if you’re based near our India headquarters, remote otherwise.
- Working hours: Your schedule must include at least two hours a day working live with US Pacific colleagues. That time falls in the late evening in India. We’ll work out the rest of your schedule together.
