About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Manager – OPEX(Cost Control & Budgeting)to plan, manage and control Zyeta's operational expenditure. You will own operating budgets, track spending against them, lead vendor negotiations, find savings and set up strong expenditure controls. This is a specialised OPEX role, not a general accounting or financial reporting position. You will work closely with leadership and with the Accounts, Procurement, Administration HR and Project Operations teams.

Responsibilities

OPEX Budgeting & Management

- Prepare and own the annual OPEX budget with department heads
- Allocate and monitor budgets across departments and business functions
- Track monthly, quarterly and annual spend against approved budgets
- Spot overspending, deviations and cost leakages
- Forecast recurring expenses for accurate budget planning

Cost Control & Optimisation

- Drive cost-control initiatives across operations and support functions
- Analyse spending patterns and vendor costs to cut unnecessary expenditure
- Ensure savings initiatives deliver measurable results
- Set cost benchmarks and expenditure control mechanisms

Vendor Management & Commercial Negotiations

- Independently manage vendor commercial engagements and relationships
- Review quotations, proposals, contracts and pricing structures
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, credit periods and SLAs
- Drive vendor consolidation,

Reporting & Expenditure Control

- Prepare monthly OPEX MIS and budget-versus-actual statements
- Monitor departmental spend, recurring and prepaid expenses, and accruals
- Highlight significant variances to leadership with recommendations
- Set up expenditure approval processes and ensure budget discipline
- Process & Stakeholder Coordination
- Define processes for budget allocation, expense approvals and spend monitoring
- Ensure timely tracking and reconciliation of operating expenses with Accounts
- Continuously improve OPEX management and financial control processes

Qualifications

- Bachelor's in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA (Finance), CA Inter or CMA is an advantage

Required Skills

- 7–10 years, with substantial hands-on ownership of OPEX budgeting and cost control
- Proven experience preparing, allocating and tracking operating budgets
- Robust vendor management, negotiation and cost optimisation track record
- Experience with recurring and prepaid expenses, accruals, financial controls and MIS
- Advanced MS Excel and working knowledge of ERP systems
- Able to drive cost-control initiatives independently and present insights to leadership

Preferred Skills

- Preferred Industry Experience Design & Build, Interior Fit-outs, Commercial Construction, Real Estate & Infrastructure, or Facilities & Integrated Workplace Management.
- Please note: Candidates whose experience is mainly in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, taxation, statutory compliance, bookkeeping or financial accounting, without direct OPEX budgeting and cost-control ownership, may not be suitable for this role.
