Purpose of the Job Role:

a. To support the development of automotive design models by creating, modifying, refining, and maintaining full-scale and scale clay models based on design data, sketches, and engineering inputs. The role enables translation of design concepts into physical representations for design reviews, management evaluations, feasibility studies, and production intent assessments.

b. Delay in development and evaluation of vehicle design concepts. Inability to convert digital design proposals into physical models for review and decision-making. Increased dependency on external resources, resulting in higher development costs and longer lead times. Reduced quality and accuracy of design validation activities, impacting program timelines and design maturity.

Skills/Competencies:

Automotive clay modelling techniques.

Surface development and surfacing interpretation.

Ability to read and understand design sketches, CAD data, and section drawings.

Expertise in hand modelling and clay finishing tools. Apply expert finishing techniques including dynoc, Painting /Stipple Painting and modelling tape applications, to achieve the highest level of detail and visual quality

Knowledge of milling preparation and model refinement processes.

Understanding of vehicle proportions, aesthetics, and design intent.

Utilize advanced digitizing equipment to gather and input data for highly accurate, data-driven model adjustments.

Problem-solving and attention to detail.

Painting Skills will be added advantage

Teamwork and communication skills.

Time management and ability to work under strict project timelines.





Knowledge of studio safety standards, security and work practices.

Relevant Experience :

3 - 6 years of experience in automotive clay modelling, including full-scale vehicle models, surface development, model finishing and detailing for final presentation.

Diploma / Degree / Professional Training in Clay Modelling, Industrial Design, Automotive Design, or related field. Specialized clay modelling certification preferred.

Experience in automotive clay modelling, especially passenger cars including full-scale vehicle models, surface development, model detailing finishing dynoc application ,painting / stipple painting of models
