ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Senior Executive Chemist (QC & Production)

1. Quality Control (QC)

- Conduct testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products and packaging materials as per approved specifications and test procedures.
- Ensure that all products meet the required quality standards and specifications before release.
- Prepare, maintain and review QC records, test reports, Certificates of Analysis (COA) and related documentation.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory instruments and ensure their calibration, verification and proper functioning.
- Handle out-of-specification (OOS), deviations and non-conformances and report them to the concerned authorities.
- Maintain proper sample retention and reference sample records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable GMP, ISO and company quality procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety and valuable laboratory practices in the QC laboratory.

1. Production Responsibilities

- Supervise and monitor day-to-day production activities as per the approved manufacturing process and batch requirements.
- Ensure proper execution of Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and production documents.
- Monitor critical process parameters such as temperature, pH, mixing time, appearance, viscosity and other applicable parameters.
- Coordinate with QC for in-process testing and approval at various stages of production.
- Ensure proper weighing, dispensing and use of raw materials as per approved formulations.
- Monitor production yield and identify process losses or deviations.




- Ensure that production activities are completed as per the approved production schedule.
- Coordinate with the maintenance department regarding equipment breakdowns and preventive maintenance.

1. Documentation & Compliance

- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all production and QC documentation.
- Follow approved SOPs, specifications and work instructions.
- Report deviations, incidents, equipment abnormalities and quality issues to the Production Manager/QA Department.
- Assist in preparation and implementation of CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
- Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.

1. Safety & Housekeeping

- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Ensure safe handling, storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness in the production and laboratory areas.
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.

1. Team Coordination

- Supervise and guide Chemists, Operators and Production Assistants, wherever applicable.
- Coordinate with QA, Production, Stores, Maintenance and other departments for smooth operations.
- Provide technical support and training to junior staff when required.

Reporting The Senior Executive Chemist (QC & Production) shall report to the Production Manager / QA Manager / Plant Head, as applicable. Overall Responsibility To ensure that production activities are carried out efficiently and safely, while maintaining the required quality standards, documentation, GMP requirements and regulatory compliance.Role & responsibilities
