We are seeking a skilled and motivated COBOL Developer with 4-6 years of experience in mainframe technologies to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing business-critical applications running on IBM Mainframe platforms. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and experience working in a production support and development workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using COBOL on IBM Mainframe systems.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform coding, unit testing, debugging, and deployment activities.
- Support and maintain existing mainframe applications and batch processes.
- Work with JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS components for application development and maintenance.
- Conduct impact analysis and provide estimates for change requests.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, QA, and Support teams.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
Required Skills
- 4-6 years of hands-on experience in COBOL development.

- Experience in application maintenance, enhancement, and production support.
- Good understanding of SDLC methodologies.

Preferred Skills
- Experience in Banking, Insurance, or Financial Services domains.
- Knowledge of Endevor, Changeman, or other source control tools.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with mainframe modernization initiatives is an added advantage.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
