Role Description The Senior Barista is a full-time, on-site role based in Mawal, responsible for leading beverage preparation and ensuring an outstanding guest experience at Markaiz. Day-to-day tasks include crafting high-quality coffee and specialty drinks, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the barista station, and ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.

The Senior

Barista supports training and mentoring of junior baristas, helps manage inventory of coffee and beverage supplies,



and adheres to food safety and hygiene standards. This role collaborates closely with the service and kitchen teams to coordinate orders, manage peak service times smoothly, and uphold Markaiz’s standards for hospitality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

- Strong experience in coffee preparation and beverage crafting, including espresso-based drinks and specialty recipes.
- Skills in customer service, guest interaction, and handling orders efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lead, train, and mentor team members while supporting a positive and inclusive work culture.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and proper handling of equipment and ingredients.
- Good organizational skills for managing inventory, tracking supplies, and coordinating with other departments.
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar hospitality role; senior or supervisory experience is an advantage.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic proficiency in using POS systems and handling cash or digital payments.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that may require light physical effort.
