Role & responsibilities

- Conduct regular medical assessment and monitoring of residents.

- Attend to residents with acute medical complaints and provide appropriate clinical management.

- Monitor chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiac conditions, respiratory conditions and other age-related illnesses.

- Review residents' medications, treatment plans and investigation reports.

- Monitor changes in residents' clinical condition and ensure timely escalation.

- Attend and manage medical emergencies within the scope of qualified practice.

- Coordinate with visiting consultants, specialists and hospitals whenever required.

- Assess residents following falls, injuries, fever, infections, breathing difficulty, altered consciousness and other acute conditions.

- Monitor and guide management of wounds, pressure sores, dehydration, infections and other common geriatric conditions.

- Coordinate hospital referrals and emergency transfers when required.





- Provide clinical guidance to nurses and caregivers.

- Ensure proper documentation of medical assessments, treatment, progress notes and clinical incidents.

- Communicate appropriately with residents and their family members regarding medical conditions and treatment.

- Participate in clinical rounds, case discussions and resident care planning.

- Ensure compliance with infection-control, medication-safety and clinical protocols.

- Support implementation of preventive healthcare and wellness programs for elderly residents.

- Participate in clinical audits, staff training and quality-improvement initiatives.

- Maintain confidentiality of resident medical and personal information.

- Perform other clinical responsibilities assigned by the management.
