Reporting To: GM-SCM / Management

Location: Factory (Patalganga, Rasayani) Near by Panvel, Navi Mumbai

1. Role Summary The Purchase Manager will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities related to elevator components, spares, consumables, machinery, and service-related materials. The role ensures timely purchase, cost-effectiveness, quality compliance, vendor development, and adherence to company policies. The position requires strong negotiation skills, technical understanding of elevator materials, and coordination with multiple internal departments.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Procurement Management

- Plan, manage, and execute procurement of all materials required for Installation, Maintenance, Modernization, and Manufacturing operations.




- Raise and approve purchase orders as per defined SOPs.
- Ensure materials are procured at the right cost, quality, quantity, and time.

B. Vendor Management

- Identify, evaluate, and empanel reliable vendors and service providers.
- Maintain vendor databases and performance metrics.
- Negotiate rates, terms, and long-term contracts with suppliers.
- Conduct periodic vendor audits and performance reviews.

C. Cost Optimization

- Continuously review pricing trends and explore cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement rate contracts, annual price agreements, and bulk procurement strategies.
- Reduce procurement lead time and avoid urgent/last-minute purchases that increase cost.

D. Coordination & Materials Planning

- Coordinate with Installation, Service, Stores, Projects, and Finance teams for material planning.
- Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages and excess inventory.
- Work closely with the Stores team for GRN/stock verification issues.
- Support the production/installation team with timely delivery of materials.

E. Compliance & Documentation

- Ensure all purchases follow internal approval matrices and procurement SOPs.
- Maintain proper documentation: PRs, POs, delivery notes, invoices, and contracts.




- Work with Finance to ensure timely vendor payments and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Ensure legal and statutory compliance with procurement requirements.

F. Vendor Payments & Reconciliation

- Follow up for timely submissions of invoices from suppliers.
- Coordinate with Accounts to ensure accurate and timely payment cycles.
- Handle vendor disputes, debit notes, credit notes, and reconciliation issues.

G. Reporting & Analytics

- Prepare weekly and monthly procurement reports.
- Track purchase spend, savings achieved, vendor performance, and pending POs.
- Present MIS dashboards to management.

3. Skills & Competencies

- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Good understanding of elevator components (preferred).
- Knowledge of procurement systems / ERP (SAP/ZOHO/etc.).
- Strategic sourcing and vendor evaluation skills.
- Attention to detail and solid follow-up ability.
- Ability to multitask and manage large volumes of purchase requirements.
- High integrity and adherence to company policies.

4. Qualifications & Experience

- Graduate in Commerce / Engineering / Supply Chain.
- MBA in Supply Chain / Materials Management preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in procurement; elevator industry experience is an advantage.
- Prior experience handling a team is desirable.
