About martai martai is a small product studio in India. We build Android apps that help people take back control of their phones: Brainn (a study timer and app blocker for exam aspirants), Be Focused (app and website blocking), NoFap (a porn blocker and recovery companion) and Kiddo Safe (parental controls). Together they've been installed more than 100,000 times and average 4.5★ on Google Play.
Our users come to us with things people often struggle with alone: exam stress, a phone they can't put down, habits they want to quit and kids growing up online. We want everything we publish about these topics to be accurate, kind and backed by research, so we're looking for someone who has studied psychology to write it.
We're a tiny team, so what you write reaches real people within days, and you'll work directly with the founding team.
What you'll do
- Research and write articles for our websites and blogs on focus and study habits, exam stress, screen time, habit change and recovery, and keeping kids safe online.
- Write the daily posts for our WhatsApp and Telegram channels: tips, short explainers, myth-busters, check-ins and polls.
- Find what's worth writing about by reading what our users search for, ask in reviews and say in support chats, and what recent research shows, then turn it into a content calendar.
- Write scripts for our YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.
- Review every video and creative our content creator makes before it goes out,
checking that it's accurate, sensitive and in our voice.
Who we're looking for
- You're studying psychology or have a degree in it (BA, BSc, MA or MSc). Counselling or clinical psychology is a plus.
- You write clearly and simply in English, and you can explain a research finding to a 17-year-old preparing for NEET without talking down to them.
- You read the study behind a headline, cite your sources and never promise a cure.
- You can write about sensitive topics like porn, compulsive habits, anxiety and loneliness without shame or judgement.
- You use AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity to research and draft faster, and you check every fact they give you.
- Bonus: you also write in Hindi, you've run a blog, page or channel of your own, or you know the basics of SEO.
You don't need years of experience. Send us writing you're proud of, even if it's from college or your own blog.
