Position: Production Manager

Location: Haldia – Barsundara

Industry: RML & Lead Ingot Production

Position Overview:

The Production Manager will lead and control end-to-end shop-floor operations for RML processing, lead smelting, refining, and ingot casting, ensuring achievement of production targets with optimum yield, recovery, quality, safety, and statutory compliance. The role requires close coordination with maintenance, stores, laboratory, and manpower teams to ensure uninterrupted and cost-effective plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Control

Ø Plan and control daily RML and lead ingot production as per approved targets.

Ø Supervise smelting, refining, alloying, and ingot casting operations.

Ø Optimize furnace utilization, batch cycle time, and plant throughput.

2. Yield, Recovery & Quality Management

Ø Monitor lead recovery percentages, slag generation, and process losses.

Ø Implement corrective actions to improve yield and metal recovery.

Ø Ensure compliance with quality specifications of finished lead ingots and by-products.

Ø Coordinate with lab/testing team for composition control and batch approval.

3. Records, MIS & Statutory Compliance

Ø Maintain accurate production logs, weighment records, and batch sheets.

Ø Prepare daily, weekly,



and monthly production MIS including downtime and consumption analysis.

Ø Ensure adherence to pollution control norms, hazardous waste rules, and statutory regulations applicable to lead recycling/smelting plants.

4. Safety, Health & Environment (EHS)

Ø Enforce strict compliance with EHS standards, PPE usage, furnace safety, and housekeeping.

Ø Monitor emission control systems, bag filters, scrubbers, and secure waste disposal.

Ø Support statutory inspections, audits, and compliance documentation.

5. Coordination & Team Management

Ø Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance of furnaces and utilities.

Ø Liaise with Stores & Procurement for availability of raw materials, flux, and consumables.

Ø Manage shift manpower deployment, discipline, and productivity.

Ø Train and guide operators for safe and efficient furnace operations.

Qualification & Experience

v 5–10 years of experience in lead recycling, battery recycling, smelting, or metal processing plants.

v Hands-on exposure to furnace operation, refining, and ingot casting.

Key Skills:
