Roles and Responsibilities

Looking for product Engineering To lead Product Engineering activities, including product design, development, engineering validation, product optimization and new product introduction (NPD), ensuring that products meet customer specifications, quality standards, cost targets and automotive industry requirements.

The position will be responsible for coordinating with customers, R&D;, manufacturing, quality, sourcing and project management teams to ensure successful development and commercialization of automotive components.

- Key Responsibilities

A. Product Design & Engineering

Lead end-to-end product design and engineering activities for automotive components.

Understand customer requirements, technical specifications and engineering drawings.

Develop product concepts, design solutions and engineering specifications.

Review 2D drawings, 3D models, GD&T; and engineering calculations.

Ensure design feasibility, manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.

Drive design optimization, value engineering and product standardization.

B. New Product Development (NPD)

Lead new product development projects from concept to mass production.

Coordinate with customers for design inputs, specifications and technical approvals.

Manage prototype development, testing, validation and product trials.

Ensure timely completion of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA and control plans.

Monitor project timelines, engineering deliverables and development milestones.

Support successful product industrialization and launch.

C. Customer & Technical Coordination

Work closely with OEM and Tier-1 customers.

Participate in technical discussions, design reviews and engineering meetings.

Handle customer engineering changes and product modifications.

Resolve technical issues related to product design, performance and functionality.

Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements.

D. Engineering Validation & Quality

Ensure product validation through testing, trials and performance evaluations.





Coordinate with quality teams for product approvals and validation reports.

Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO and applicable automotive standards.

Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for product-related issues.

Drive continuous improvement in product reliability and performance.

E. Cost Optimization & Value Engineering

Identify opportunities for product cost reduction and material optimization.

Drive VA/VE initiatives without compromising product quality.

Evaluate alternative materials, manufacturing processes and design improvements.

Work with procurement and manufacturing teams to improve product cost competitiveness.

F. Team & Project Management

Lead and mentor the Product Engineering / Design / NPD team.

Allocate engineering resources and monitor team performance.

Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchase, Sales and R&D; departments.

Ensure timely execution of multiple product development projects.

Prepare engineering MIS, project progress reports and management reviews.

- Candidate Profile

12–18 years of experience in Product Engineering / R&D; / Product Design / NPD within the automotive component industry.

Experience in handling product development projects for OEMs and Tier-1 customers.

Strong understanding of automotive component design, development and manufacturing processes.

Experience in leading engineering teams and managing multiple development projects.

Good exposure to customer technical interactions and product approvals.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
