Qualification

Ph.D. in Mechanical / Aerospace / Civil (Structural) / Applied Mechanics / Engineering Mechanics / Materials Engineering or a closely related discipline, with doctoral research in solid mechanics, experimental mechanics, computational mechanics, composite materials, structural health monitoring or mechanical design.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Experimental, Computational and Interdisciplinary Solid Mechanics: Stress Analysis, Composite Structures and Structural Health Monitoring

Conduct experimental analysis and mechanical testing using full-field optical methods (photoelasticity, DIC),



strain gauges and standard ASTM/ISO tests, including design of specimens and fixtures.

Develop and validate finite element models of components and structures, and correlate numerical predictions with experiments.

Fabricate and characterise composite and advanced materials, and investigate damage, fracture, fatigue and failure mechanisms.

Develop structural health monitoring and NDE methods, supported by inverse, image-processing and data-driven techniques.

Contribute to interdisciplinary applications of solid mechanics in biomedical, energy, manufacturing and smart-material areas.

Publish in high-impact journals, prepare funding proposals and patents, mentor students, and deliver project reports and milestones on time.
