About GrowthByte.ai
GrowthByte is an AI-powered growth partner for SaaS, D2C, FinTech, and Healthcare companies in the ₹5Cr–₹100Cr revenue range. We run integrated growth systems - paid media, SEO, content, and lifecycle - guided by senior strategists with one mandate: measurable revenue growth.
Our paid media practice drives the numbers above. We run Google, Meta, and LinkedIn campaigns with AI-assisted bid optimisation, audience modelling, and daily performance management. Every rupee we spend is accountable to a revenue outcome - not vanity metrics.
The Role
We are looking for a Paid & Performance Marketing Intern who wants to understand how growth budgets are actually spent - and what separates campaigns that scale from campaigns that bleed. You will work directly inside live client ad accounts across Google, Meta, and LinkedIn.
This is not an observation role. You will build campaigns, analyse performance data, write ad copy, run A/B tests, and sit in on strategy calls. By the end of this internship, you should be able to look at a campaign and immediately identify what is working, what is wasting spend, and what to do next.
What You Will Do
Campaign Execution
- Set up and manage campaigns across Google Ads (Search, Performance Max, Display) and Meta Ads (Facebook + Instagram) under senior supervision.
- Build ad sets with targeted audience definitions - custom audiences, lookalikes, interest stacks, and exclusion layers.
- Write and iterate ad copy across formats: search headlines, display copy, Meta primary text, and CTAs. Short, sharp, conversion-focused.
- Assist with campaign structuring: naming conventions, campaign hierarchies, budget allocation across ad sets, and bid strategy selection.
- Support LinkedIn B2B campaign setup for SaaS and professional services clients - audience targeting by job title, industry, and company size.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Pull and analyse daily performance data - CTR, CPC, CPL, ROAS, conversion rates - and flag anomalies before they compound.
- Build and maintain weekly performance reports in Google Sheets or Looker Studio, translating raw numbers into clear observations and next steps.
- Conduct creative performance analysis: which ad formats, headlines, and visuals are driving results, and which are dragging the account.
- Run landing page performance checks: bounce rates, scroll depth,
form completion - connecting ad performance to post-click behaviour.
- Support attribution analysis in GA4 - understanding which channels and touchpoints are genuinely driving conversions.
Testing & Optimisation
- Set up structured A/B tests on audiences, creatives, and landing pages - one variable at a time, with a clear hypothesis before launching.
- Monitor campaign frequency, audience saturation, and creative fatigue, and flag when rotations are needed.
- Assist with keyword research, negative keyword management, and search term report analysis for Google Search campaigns.
- Use AI tools to generate creative variants, headline options, and copy angles at speed - with quality review before anything goes live.
What We Are Looking For Must-Have
- Analytical mindset - you are comfortable working with numbers daily. You spot a drop in CTR and your first instinct is to find out why, not wait to be asked.
- Basic familiarity with at least one ad platform - you have explored Google Ads or Meta Ads Manager, even if only through a personal project or course.
- Solid written English - you will write ad copy and reports regularly. Clarity and brevity matter more than style.
- Structured thinking - you can hold a hypothesis, test it cleanly, and report what you found without over-interpreting the data.
- Attention to detail - campaign errors cost real money. You double-check before you publish.
Good to Have
- Hands-on experience with Google Ads or Meta Ads Manager - even a small personal or freelance campaign counts.
- Familiarity with GA4, Google Tag Manager, or any analytics tool.
- Exposure to conversion tracking setup, pixel implementation, or UTM tagging.
- Understanding of basic marketing economics: CAC, LTV, ROAS, contribution margin.
- Comfort using AI tools for copy generation, research, or data interpretation.
How AI Fits Into This Role
- GrowthByte runs AI-assisted bid optimisation, audience modelling, and anomaly detection across all client accounts.
- As an intern, you will learn to use AI tools to generate copy variants, interpret performance trends, and accelerate analysis.
- The expectation is not that you rely on AI - it is that you develop the judgment to know when AI output is right, when it is wrong, and when it needs a human call.
- AI does the work. Humans own the strategy. You will sit inside that operating model from day one.
What You Will Learn
- How to read a live ad account and diagnose performance issues at the campaign, ad set, and creative level.
- How budget allocation decisions are made across channels, and what signals drive those decisions week to week.
- How to write ad copy that actually converts - the difference between a headline that gets clicks and one that gets qualified clicks.
- How attribution works in practice - why last-click lies, what multi-touch models reveal, and how GA4 helps you see the full picture.
- How to structure a performance report that drives decisions, not just documents what happened.
- How AI tools integrate into a real performance marketing workflow - where they accelerate things, and where human judgment is irreplaceable.
Who Thrives Here You will thrive here if...
- A drop in ROAS makes you curious, not anxious.
- You find yourself reading about ad algorithms in your own time.
- You think in funnels - not just clicks.
- You have a strong opinion on what makes ad copy bad.
- You check the data before concluding.
This role is not for you if...
- You are not comfortable working with numbers daily.
- You want to do creative work without understanding the data behind it.
- You need everything structured before you can start.
- You treat reporting as a formality, not a decision tool.
- You prefer to observe campaigns rather than own them.
How to Apply Send your application to
[email protected] with the subject line: Performance Marketing Intern - [Your Name]
Can Include
- Your resume or LinkedIn profile.
- A short note - 3 to 5 sentences - on what draws you to paid media specifically. Not a generic marketing answer. What is it about performance data and ad systems that interests you?
- Look at this scenario and answer it in 4–5 lines: A Meta campaign has been running for 3 weeks. ROAS has dropped from 3.2 to 1.8 in the last 7 days. Spend is the same. What are the first three things you check?
- Optional: any ad account access, campaign screenshots, or analytics work you have done - however small.
We are not looking for someone who has done it all. We are looking for someone who thinks clearly under pressure and wants to get better fast.
