Role Overview
This isn't a typical HRBP role. You will partner with the non-technical business and support teams of a company that is changing how finance works in India. You will be the person managers and leaders call when a people question is hard: a difficult employee conversation, a team that needs restructuring, a good performer about to leave.
This role exists to make sure our fast-growing teams have the right structure, the right people and fair, consistent people practices as we scale. You will also coach managers and work closely with function heads and senior leaders, and shape how HR shows up for the business.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business and support function heads on the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, transfers, offboarding and day-to-day employee queries
- Handle employee relations end to end: guide managers, run preliminary investigations, and support disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans, where needed
- Advise leaders on team structure and role design, and coach them through difficult people decisions
- Run performance management cycles, incentive plans and reward and recognition programs, and keep timelines and records accurate
- Manage lifecycle events in your teams, including probation closures, contract renewals and third-party to full-time conversions, with explicit documentation at each step
- Track the pulse of the floor through regular check-ins, functional all-hands and feedback, spot recurring themes early, and act on them with clear plans
- Study attrition and HR data for your business units, find the root causes, and propose practical steps to improve retention and employee experience
- Roll out company-wide initiatives and HR policies consistently across your teams, and improve HR processes as you go What You'll Know You're Winning When
- Partner with business and support function heads on the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, transfers, offboarding and day-to-day employee queries.
- Managers in your business units see you as their first call on people matters, and bring you in early.
- Employee relations cases you handle are documented, handled fairly and closed within agreed timelines.
- Performance cycles and routine HR processes have run on time in your teams, with action plans that managers are following up on.
- You have identified the top 2-3 reasons people leave your teams, and have actions underway that are moving attrition in the right direction.
- Employee records and HR reports for your teams are accurate and ready when the business asks for them.
Qualifications
- Have 3-5 years as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner, with strong grounding in employee lifecycle management, execution and reporting, and hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field.
- Give clear, balanced advice on sensitive people matters, even when it isn't what the business wants to hear.
- You take a problem from first report to resolution.
- Read HR data well and turn it into trends and clear recommendations.
- Build trust with employees and managers at every level, and keep sensitive matters confidential.
- Keep details right: records, timelines and documentation hold up to scrutiny.
- Grow yourself and the people around you, with an Act Like Owners and Win Like a Team mindset.
- Are curious about Web3 and VDA, and comfortable with a business that changes fast.
