Title: Engineering & Maintenance Head

A. PURPOSE OF POSITION The incumbent is responsible for achieving strategic and tactical objectives for all Manufacturing, Equipment Engineering, Maintenance functions and products and services needed for smooth day-day operations.

Functional Responsibilities

1. Responsible for man management and their activities in the Electrical, Mechanical & Utility Maintenance.

2. Develop, implement and maintain preventive/predictive maintenance programs for plant equipments in order to achieve trouble free operations.

3. Maintain effective liaison with suppliers, vendors, equipment manufacturers and contractors.

4. Development of critical spares, innovations for value added services & to economise the spare through vendor development.

5. Establish priorities and completion dates for any modifications/upgradation & projects.

6. Develop departmental budgets and operate within approved budget allocations.

7. Develop, implement and maintain an inventory of parts and material.

8. Maintain a safe and clean work environment through 5S in shop floor areas.

9. Develop and recommend strategies to meet present and future demands & challenges.

10. To establish quality check & quality parameters for incoming spare parts

11. To ensure spares/parts developed by vendors meet the specifications as indicated in contract or purchase order.

12. Knowledge of and follow ISO-9000 and TQM procedures associated with the position.

- Coordination with (internal liaison): Manufacturing Head, Pre-Press, Purchasing, Human Resources, Financial Resources, & Plant HR Personnel.

E. Qualifications 1. Mechanical, Electrical Engineering Degree or Business Management Degree.

F. Experience

1. Fifteen years of experience preferably in printing plant maintenance and manufacturing.

2. Thorough knowledge of drives, PLC’s & automation

G. Skills

1. Must have positive interpersonal skills to work with peers in manufacturing, outside contractors and vendors.

2. Should be highly motivated and capable of taking initiative to react to emergencies when called upon.

3. Exceptional organizing skills.

4. Analytical and problem-solving ability a prerequisite.
