We are hiring a highly experienced Level 3 OCI Cloud & Oracle Database Engineer for a senior hands-on technical role supporting enterprise environments across Australia and New Zealand.
This position requires someone who can independently manage both enterprise Oracle databases AND Oracle Cloud Infrastructure / Exadata environments.
We are looking for a true Oracle Cloud specialist — not simply an Oracle DBA with theoretical OCI exposure. The successful candidate must be capable of operating the complete technology stack across Oracle Database, OCI infrastructure, Exadata, HA/DR, performance tuning, migrations, Linux and production support.

? EXPERIENCE REQUIRED✅ 10+ years as a Production Oracle DBA
✅ 4+ years of hands-on OCI and/or Exadata experience
✅ Strong experience supporting 24×7 production database environments
Candidates must demonstrate strong hands-on capabilities across both Oracle Database Administration and OCI/Exadata.
?️ ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATIONYou will be responsible for managing enterprise production Oracle environments including:
✔ Oracle 12c, 19c and later versions
✔ CDB/PDB creation and administration
✔ Database service configuration
✔ Database upgrades from 11g/12c to 19c
✔ Database patching and Grid Infrastructure maintenance
? BACKUP & RECOVERYStrong hands-on expertise required with:
✅ RMAN – Level 0 & Incremental Backups
✅ Data Pump
✅ Flashback
✅ Point-in-Time Recovery
✅ Backup validation
✅ Recovery planning based on RPO/RTO requirements
Candidates should be comfortable performing recovery activities independently during critical production incidents.
? DATA GUARD / HA & DRHands-on expertise required in:
✔ Building Data Guard standby databases
✔ Monitoring replication lag
✔ Resolving archive/log gaps
✔ Performing switchovers and failovers
✔ Planning and executing DR drills
✔ Meeting defined RPO/RTO objectives
✔ GoldenGate replication – added advantage
⚡ ORACLE PERFORMANCE TUNINGYou should have strong production troubleshooting experience using:

✅ SQL performance analysis
You should be capable of diagnosing performance problems across the database, storage, operating system and cloud infrastructure layers.

✔ Storage expansion
✔ ASM rebalancing

? L3 ESCALATION RESPONSIBILITIESAs the Level 3 escalation engineer, you will:
✔ Handle complex Oracle and OCI production incidents
✔ Lead P1 incident bridges
✔ Troubleshoot database recovery and performance incidents
✔ Handle Data Guard switchover/failover situations
✔ Diagnose OCI/Exadata storage and infrastructure issues
✔ Prepare detailed Root Cause Analysis reports
✔ Coach and support L1/L2 engineers
✔ Maintain runbooks and technical knowledge articles
?️ MSP / MANAGED SERVICES EXPERIENCECandidates should ideally have experience working within:
✅ Managed Services / MSP environments
✅ SLA-driven production support
✅ ITSM ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Halo or similar
✅ Formal change-control processes
✅ Customer-facing support environments
Excellent written and verbal English is key as the engineer will interact directly with Australian and New Zealand customers.
