What the role involves.
- Bring up the Linux kernel on current SoCs and boards device trees, clocks, power domains, memory and the boot path to a login prompt.
- Write and upstream kernel drivers and subsystems for custom blocks DMA, interrupts, accelerators and high-speed interfaces.
- Co-design the hardware/software boundary with the silicon team what the hardware exposes, and what the kernel must do with it.
- Debug at the hardware line JTAG, trace and bus analysers and own kernel latency, throughput and power on the real board.
