Role & responsibilities The Specifications Expert is responsible for the creation, validation, maintenance, and release of packaging specifications, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and material master data required to enable successful product introductions, modifications, and delistings across all markets. This role ensures that all specification and BOM data are accurately captured, aligned with regulatory, technical, and operational requirements, and stored in PLM with full auditability. The role acts as the technical data owner for packaging specifications, variant materials, central and local BOM structures, and PackSpec IDs.

The Specifications

Expert ensures dependencies such as VM, MSE, PSE, CBOM and material IDs are correctly created, validated, and released. The role interacts closely with Innovation execution, Product Development, Factories, Regulatory Affairs, and Master Data teams to ensure that every packaging component and BOM meets required standards.

Expert plays a critical role in driving firsttimeright quality by applying structured validation, guided corrections, rulebased completeness checks, and by maintaining robust controls on versioning, signoffs, and release processes.



This role significantly contributes to reduction of rework, elimination of manual loops, and enabling systemdriven governance in the future operating model.

- Creation of Central Materials, PackSpecs and BOM Structures
- Local Material & Local BOM Creation
- Review, Validation, and Correction of BOMs (Complete/In Progress/Incomplete)
- Partial BOM and BOM Completion Requests
- Packaging Specification Creation and Updates
- Variant Material (VM) and CBOM Management
- Feasibility Checks & PID/Change Request Support
- Reporting, Meetings, and Administrative Responsibilities
- Specification & Material Creation Decisions (Data Quality Gatekeeper)
- BOM Integrity & Technical Data Quality Assurance
