PEP Schoolv2 | Social Science Educator (Grades 6–10)
Full-time | HSR Layout
Build the version 2 of schooling in India
Most schools in India are built for “the average child.” Everyone moves at the same pace, does the same worksheet, writes the same test, and is judged by the same yardstick.
But children are not average.
PEP Schoolv2 exists because we believe school needs a version 2. A model where learning is genuinely personalized, where children are known deeply, and where teaching is designed around how children actually learn. When you do this well, two things happen together. Children build strong academic foundations and they stay curious.
We are looking for educators who feel energized by this mission. People who want to redesign school so it fits children, instead of forcing children to fit school.
The Chance
Often, social science education in India follows a predictable pattern: memorize dates, definitions, and textbook explanations, then reproduce them in exams.
Students learn about revolutions, empires, migration, and democracy—but rarely feel the power of these ideas or see how they shape the world around them. They are seldom encouraged to ask why societies evolve, how geography shapes human life, or how the past connects to the present.
At PEP Schoolv2, we believe social science should awaken curiosity about people, societies, and the forces that shape human life. When it is taught well, students begin to see connections everywhere—between the past and present, between local lives and global systems.
Students in Grades 6–10 explore history, geography, economics, and civics as tools for understanding the world. They examine historical events, analyze maps, discuss current affairs, read powerful ideas, and debate different perspectives.
They learn that social science is not just information to remember. It is a way of making sense of the world.
We are looking for educators who feel deeply connected to this subject. People who read widely,
follow current affairs with curiosity, ask big questions about the world, and want to inspire adolescents to do the same.
You'll work with small groups, which means you can actually know each student. What ideas spark their curiosity. What questions they ask about the world. How they interpret history and society.
Your role is to guide them toward deeper thinking, stronger expression, and a genuine curiosity about the world they live in.
What You’ll Do
Bring social science to life.
Design learning experiences that help students explore history, geography, civics, and economics through discussion, storytelling, inquiry, projects, and real-world connections.
Connect learning with the real world.
Use current affairs, global events, and local contexts to help students see how the ideas they study relate to the world around them.
Develop thoughtful thinkers.
Guide students to examine causes and consequences, compare perspectives, analyze sources, and understand how societies change over time.
Encourage reading and writing about what they learn.
Help students engage with meaningful texts—articles, historical narratives, essays—and develop the ability to think and express their ideas clearly through writing.
Personalize learning.
Working with small groups allows you to adapt your approach to how each student learns and engages with ideas.
Inspire curiosity.
Your love for the subject should be visible and contagious. Students should leave your classes more curious about the world than when they entered.
What we are looking for
- Any undergraduate or postgraduate degree is welcome.
- What matters far more than the degree itself is:
- A deep love for social science
- Curiosity about history, geography, societies, and global issues
- A habit of reading widely and staying engaged with current affairs
- Strong thinking and writing ability
- The ability to spark thoughtful discussions with adolescents
- A desire to keep learning and exploring the subject yourself
- Teaching experience is welcome but not required. We are open to:
- Experienced educators who want a more thoughtful, discussion-driven environment
- Individuals from other fields who are deeply interested in social science and enjoy working with adolescents
If you love social sciences deeply and can communicate your passion effectively, we want to talk—regardless of your exact credentials. If you enjoy reading about history, following global events, discussing ideas, and making sense of the world, you may find this role deeply fulfilling.
