Education : B.E. Civil. Post-graduation or certification in Quality Management preferred

Build and own the quality system

- Author, get approved and implement the QA/QC plan and Quality Manual for the organisation, covering both horizontal and vertical projects.
- Own the annual quality budget.
- Formulate SOPs, checklists, method statements and inspection test plans for every major work activity, and standardise them across every site. Hand the inspection test plans to the Head, Quality Control for execution.
- Set up quality induction and mobilisation protocols for new sites so that a project starts with the system already in place.
- Own document control for quality: approved drawings, specifications, material submittals and revision tracking at site.
- Align the quality system to recognised management system standards and keep it audit ready.

Design and specification assurance

- Review drawings, specifications and bills of quantities for buildability and quality intent before work is released to site.
- Set the approved material and make list, and the acceptance criteria for each work item.
- Raise design and specification risks early, with the project and design teams, before they become rework.

Site assurance and audit

- Run periodic quality audits at all project sites on a published calendar, covering both process compliance and workmanship.




- Standardise the audit process and scoring so results are comparable across sites, regions and project types.
- Recommend and close out corrective and preventive action on quality problems, with root cause traced rather than symptom fixed.
- Maintain a live view of non-conformances, ageing and closure across the portfolio.
- Build a lessons-learned loop so a failure at one site changes the standard at every site.

Contractor, vendor and material quality

- Evaluate all new contractors, vendors and suppliers on quality capability before empanelment, and make quality a gate in that process.
- Rate contractors on quality performance through the life of each contract and feed the rating into award and payment decisions.
- Hold contractors and employees to company quality norms, statutory regulations and approved work practices.
- Set the framework for material approval, third party testing and site laboratories, which the Head, Quality Control operates.

Handover and customer quality

- Define the handover quality standard, including the final inspection and snag closure process for plots, common infrastructure, and apartments and commercial areas.




- Track post-handover defect reports as a quality input and take them back into specifications and audits.
- Keep quality records complete for statutory and regulatory requirements, including RERA obligations.

Cost of quality

- Minimise material and work rejection at sites.
- Minimise rework arising from substandard workmanship.
- Track cost of poor quality as a measured number and drive it down.

Capability building

- Identify skill and capability gaps in the quality and execution teams.
- Design and run quality training for supervisors and engineers, including at new sites.
- Build a QA team that can scale with the project pipeline.

Governance

- Provide inputs to management on process and system improvement.
- Report quality performance to the COO and leadership with data, not narrative.

Candidate Profile

Must have

- B.E. Civil, 14 to 20 years of experience
- Experience across the full construction cycle, not a single stage or a single project type.
- Demonstrated implementation of quality management plans at project sites
- Solid working knowledge of quality management systems, audit methods, root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Willingness to travel extensively to project sites.

Preferred

- Post-graduation or certification in Quality Management, or lead auditor training.
- Exposure to both large scale horizontal or township developments and high-rise residential construction.
- Experience setting up a quality function or SOP framework from scratch.
