Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Hardware Design
Engineer with 1 to 3 years of hands-on industry experience to join our core engineering team. In this role, you will be owning the design, development, and validation of critical hardware components and electronic subsystems.
You will work closely R&D; engineering staff to take concepts from architectural definitions into robust physical designs, contributing significantly to high-reliability vehicle electronics systems, multi-layer high-density boards, and robust circuit configurations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schematic & PCB Design: Independently own and execute multi-layer schematic
- capture and PCB layouts, adhering to industry best practices for high-speed routing, signal integrity, and manufacturing rules (DFM/DFA).
- Subsystem Bring-up & Verification: Drive the prototyping phase, board bring-up, hardware debugging, and verification of new hardware designs using standard laboratory equipment (DSOs, MSOs, logic analyzers, electronic loads, etc.).
- Simulation & Analysis: Perform circuit simulations, power integrity analyses, and thermal estimations using tools like LTspice, PSpice, or TINA to validate design margins prior to fabrication.
- Component Engineering: Component selection, Bill of Materials (BOM) optimization, and proactive component sourcing, striking an optimal balance between reliability, cost, lead times, and design longevity.
- Design Reviews & Compliance:
Actively participate in and prepare documentation for technical design reviews. Implement structural circuit protection mechanisms (EMI/EMC filtering, ESD/TVS isolation) to meet strict industrial or automotive grade parameters.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate directly with embedded firmware and mechanical team members to perfectly align electrical interfaces, connector configurations, and physical enclosure constraints.
- Technical Documentation: Generate comprehensive engineering documentation, including hardware requirement specifications (HRS), verification test reports, and engineering change notices (ECN).
Qualifications & Technical Skills:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering, or a strictly related field.
- Core Electronics: Strong foundation in circuit analysis, analog circuit design (op-amps, power topologies, regulators), digital circuits, and standard microcontroller architectures.
- EDA Tools: Proven professional proficiency in skilled hardware design suites, such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCAD, or equivalent EDA environments.
- Circuit Protection & EMI: Direct experience or clear exposure to implementing robust hardware protection circuits, including TVS protection, isolated communication lines (CAN, UART, SPI), and input EMI filters.
- Attributes: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, a keen eye for physical layout detail, clear technical communication skills, and an eagerness to innovate within highly collaborative teams.
