About the Role

GMH India is part of the Grand Metropolitan group and is growing its team in Gurgaon. We're looking for a careful, proactive Finance Specialist to support our European operations and portfolio growth. You'll work closely with owners, investors and the corporate finance team at our Swiss headquarters in Luzern, so fluent German is essential. You'll keep financial reporting accurate and compliant across our hotel portfolio, and help the hotels run well.

Responsibilities

Financial reporting and analysis

- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (P&L;, balance sheet, cash flow) for assigned hotel properties, in line with Grand Metropolitan group standards and local GAAP.

- Run variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior periods. Spot trends and find ways to cut costs or grow revenue in hotel operations.

- Support the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, working with hotel General Managers and department heads.

Stakeholder communication

- Act as the main finance contact for German-speaking owners and investors, and for the corporate finance team in Luzern.

- Present financial performance and reports clearly in German and English.

- Explain financial information in plain terms to hotel management and other non-finance teams.

Transaction processing and controls

- Manage accounts payable and receivable for hotel operations, especially for entities in German-speaking regions. This covers invoices, vendor payments and reconciling guest billing on time.

- Reconcile bank statements and handle intercompany transactions across global offices.

- Help put in place and enforce internal financial controls and policies across managed properties, and help prepare for external audits.

Portfolio growth and systems

- Help the finance team integrate and set up the finances for new hotel management contracts as they join the portfolio.

- Use hotel Property Management Systems (PMS), central ERP tools and other digital tools to keep data accurate and processes productive.

Requirements





- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field.

- 35 years of experience in finance, accounting or audit. Hospitality, hotel management or real estate experience is strongly preferred.

- Full professional fluency in German (C1 or equivalent) and English, written and spoken. You should have experience preparing and presenting financial information in German.

- Proven skill in financial reporting, budgeting and variance analysis. You understand hotel revenue streams (Rooms, F&B;, Banquets) and key metrics such as RevPAR and GOPPAR.

- Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

- Advanced MS Excel, plus experience with major ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and hotel operational software.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to juggle several deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You work well with multicultural, international teams.

Nice to Have

- Professional accounting qualification (CA, CMA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent), or progress towards one.

- Experience in an international hotel management group or multinational company.

- Familiarity with Swiss or European accounting standards as well as Indian accounting practices.

- Hands-on experience with financial due diligence or integration for new hotel management contracts or acquisitions.

- Familiarity with finance digitalisation tools and sustainability reporting principles.
