Job Description (JD) PRT English Teacher

Position: Primary Teacher (PRT) – English Department: Academics Grade Levels: Classes I to V Qualification: Graduate in English with B.Ed./D.El.Ed. (as applicable)

1. Job Summary The PRT English Teacher will be responsible for teaching English to primary-level students (Classes I–V), developing their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, and creating an engaging, interactive, and student-centered learning setting.

2. Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver effective English lessons as per the prescribed curriculum.
- Teach English grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, phonics, reading, and creative writing.
- Develop students' spoken English and communication skills.
- Use activity-based, experiential, and interactive teaching methodologies.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and teaching-learning materials.
- Conduct regular assessments, quizzes, and classroom activities.




- Monitor students' academic progress and maintain performance records.
- Provide individual attention and remedial support to students who need it.
- Maintain classroom discipline and encourage positive behaviour.
- Integrate smart classroom tools and digital resources into teaching.
- Communicate students' progress and concerns to parents.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, school events, and other academic activities.

3. Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in English or any relevant discipline.
- B.Ed. / D.El.Ed. qualification preferred or as per applicable recruitment norms.
- CTET / UPTET qualification preferred, where applicable.
