KPI Partners is seeking a Data Security Engineer/SQL Database Administrator with expertise in Azure to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of our SQL databases hosted in Azure. You will implement security policies, perform regular security assessments, and troubleshoot security incidents while providing robust database administration support.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL Server, Azure services, and best practices for data security in cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, implement, and maintain secure SQL databases in Azure.
- Monitor database performance, security, and availability.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement corrective measures.
- Develop and enforce database security policies and access controls.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents and performance issues.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure secure database access and data handling practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards pertaining to data security.
- Document security protocols and database configurations for audit purposes.
Skills and Tools Required:- Proficiency in SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.
- Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
- Experience with Azure services such as Azure Active Directory, Key Vault, and Security Center.
- Familiarity with data encryption, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries.
- Proficient in using monitoring tools for database performance and security (e.g., Azure Monitor, SQL Profiler).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications in database administration or cloud security are a plus (e.g., Azure Database Administrator, Certified Information Systems Security Professional - CISSP).
