Mind & Brain Hospital is looking for a qualified and experienced Consultant Neurologist to provide specialist neurological consultations on a consultation basis.
The consultant will be responsible for evaluating patients with neurological conditions, providing clinical diagnosis and treatment recommendations, and coordinating with psychiatrists, general physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct neurological consultations and detailed clinical assessments.
- Evaluate patients presenting with neurological symptoms and disorders.
- Diagnose and manage neurological conditions such as:
- Epilepsy and seizure disorders.
- Headaches and migraine.
- Stroke and cerebrovascular disorders.
- Parkinson's disease and movement disorders.
- Neuropathy and nerve-related disorders.
- Dementia and cognitive disorders.
- Other neurological and neurodegenerative conditions.
- Review patient medical history, investigation reports and diagnostic findings.
- Recommend appropriate investigations, medications and treatment plans.
- Provide specialist opinions for inpatients and referred cases, as per the agreed consultation arrangement.
- Coordinate with psychiatrists, general physicians and other specialists for patients with overlapping neurological and psychiatric conditions.
- Guide patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate consultation notes,
prescriptions and medical documentation.
- Recommend referrals or further specialist evaluation whenever required.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions when necessary.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow hospital clinical protocols.
Educational Qualifications
- MBBS from a recognised medical institution.
- MD/DNB in General Medicine followed by DM/DNB in Neurology, or an equivalent recognised specialist qualification.
- Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council.
Experience
- Relevant experience in Neurology is preferred.
- Experience in managing neurological and neuropsychiatric cases will be an added advantage.
