Overview

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Commis Chef specializing in Chinese cuisine to support kitchen operations. The candidate should have practical experience in Chinese food preparation, basic cooking techniques, ingredient handling, and maintaining kitchen hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook Chinese dishes as per hotel recipes and standards.
- Assist senior chefs in daily kitchen operations.
- Handle chopping, cutting, marination, and ingredient preparation.
- Operate Chinese cooking equipment, including wok and burners.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and food presentation.
- Ensure proper food storage and stock rotation.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards.
- Follow instructions from the Sous Chef and Head Chef.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 1–2 years of experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
- Practical knowledge of Chinese cuisine.
- Knowledge of wok cooking, sauces, noodles, rice, and Chinese starters.
- Understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
- Ability to work under pressure during busy service hours.
- Teamwork and willingness to learn.
