: Civil Execution Monitoring Engineer

Location: BKC Mumbai, with frequent travel to project sites

- Job Purpose To monitor civil construction activities across multiple project locations from the Head Office, ensuring execution is aligned with approved project schedules, engineering drawings, quality standards, and contractual requirements. The role involves regular site visits to assess actual progress, identify execution gaps, review quality, coordinate with site teams, and drive timely completion of project milestones.
- Key Responsibilities

A. Project Progress Monitoring

- Monitor civil construction progress across multiple project sites from the Head Office.
- Review planned versus actual progress against approved project schedules and key milestones.
- Obtain and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports from site teams.
- Identify delays, critical activities, resource constraints, and execution bottlenecks.
- Coordinate with site teams and project planners to develop corrective action and recovery plans.
- Prepare consolidated project progress dashboards and management reports for senior leadership.
- Track pending activities, critical-path items, and interdepartmental dependencies.

B. Site Visits and Execution Review
- Undertake frequent visits to project locations to verify actual site progress against reported progress.
- Inspect ongoing civil works, including equipment foundations, RCC structures, trenches, drains, industrial flooring, roads, and other plant infrastructure.
- Assess contractor performance, manpower deployment, equipment availability, and work-front readiness.
- Identify deviations from approved drawings, construction methodology, project schedules, and specifications.
- Coordinate with site engineers, construction managers, contractors, consultants to resolve execution issues.
- Follow up on observations and ensure timely closure of action points after each site visit.

C. Quality Monitoring
- Monitor adherence to approved drawings, technical specifications, inspection and test plans, and applicable quality standards.




- Review quality inspection reports, concrete test results, material test certificates, and non-conformance reports.
- Verify quality-critical activities during site visits, including reinforcement, formwork, anchor bolts, embedded plates, concrete pouring, and foundation levels.
- Track recurring quality issues, rework, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with site QA/QC teams to ensure timely resolution of quality deviations.

D. Schedule and Cost Monitoring
- Review project schedules, look-ahead plans, milestone commitments, and progress updates.
- Monitor reasons for schedule slippage and recommend measures to recover delays.
- Track civil work quantities, contractor progress, and resource utilization against project requirements.
- Review measurement records, work completion status, and contractor billing progress, as assigned.
- Highlight potential cost overruns, variations, and productivity issues to project management.

E. Coordination and Management Reporting
- Act as a coordination link between the Head Office and project site teams.
- Conduct periodic review meetings with site personnel, planning, QA/QC, procurement, and other relevant departments.
- Prepare concise management reports covering progress, delays, quality concerns, risks, and corrective actions.
- Maintain project-wise trackers for milestones, pending decisions, technical issues, and action items.
- Escalate critical issues requiring management intervention and monitor their resolution.
- Support standardization of project monitoring formats, reporting systems, and review procedures.

- Educational Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering with relevant industrial project experience.
- Additional qualifications in construction or project management will be an advantage.





- Experience and Technical Requirements

- 510 years of experience in civil project execution, project monitoring, planning, or project controls.
- Experience in steel plant projects or equivalent heavy industrial projects such as steel plants, cement plants, power plants, manufacturing facilities, or metallurgical projects.
- Strong understanding of industrial civil works, equipment foundations, RCC structures, and associated infrastructure as per IS codes.
- Proven ability to monitor multiple project locations and validate site progress through regular visits.
- Experience in schedule tracking, progress reporting, delay analysis, contractor coordination, and quality monitoring.
- Proficiency in MS Office, SAP and Primavera or equivalent project monitoring tools.
- Ability to read and interpret civil and structural drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Willingness to travel frequently to project sites as required.
