About AuctionIT

AuctionIT (iCom Analytics Ltd, a Jindal Saw group company) is a B2B industrial goods exchange. We help large manufacturers realise the best value for their non-prime material: scrap, surplus stock, by-products, used machinery and industrial waste. Price discovery happens through transparent online e-auctions run on our platform.

We complete 10 years in 2026. We serve around 200 client accounts across 150+ plants in about 20 states, with leading groups in steel, pipes, power, auto, cables and consumer durables. Our buyer network has over 5,000 registered bidders across India.

Role snapshot

- Title: Assistant Vice President, Commercial
- Location: Noida, with frequent travel to client plants
- Reports to: COO
- Experience: 12 to 15 years
- Travel: 40 to 50 percent

Why this role exists

Our clients trust us with their material. The next stage of growth comes from going deeper into these accounts: more plants, more material categories, and long term contracts in place of one-off auctions. This needs senior, steady relationships with the people who decide at the client: SCM heads, plant heads, commercial heads and finance.

The AVP Commercial owns these relationships and the commercial outcome of every key account. This person grows revenue from existing clients, protects our fee realisation, and leads a small team of client relationship managers.

Key responsibilities

Account ownership and growth

- Own the senior relationship for key client accounts at HO and plant level.
- Build an account plan for each key client covering plants, material streams, volumes and current vendors.
- Expand each account from one plant to group-wide coverage and from one material to all disposable categories.
- Convert one-off auctions into recurring monthly, quarterly or annual mandates.
- Activate dormant plants of existing clients.
- Run quarterly business reviews with client leadership using auction results, realisation and lifting data.

Commercials and contracts

- Negotiate service fees and contract terms within the company rate card and pricing approval process.
- Drive renewals and rate revisions ahead of contract expiry.
- Review services agreements and client-side contracts with legal and finance. Own redlines on commercial clauses.
- Make sure every auction is invoiced correctly and fees are collected on time.
- Track competitor rates and incumbent vendors in each account and defend against displacement.

Realisation and client outcomes

- Work with the category and auction operations teams on reserve price, lot structuring, auction timing and re-auction strategy.
- Push clear rates and on-time lifting for your accounts.
- Own client escalations end to end: lifting delays, buyer defaults, payment issues, disputes and compliance concerns. Close them with a clear corrective plan.

Team leadership

- Lead and coach the Client Relationship Managers. Set account ownership, targets and review cadence.
- Build a clean handover between sales (new accounts), commercial (account growth) and auction operations (execution).
- Later, take on the category team, which brings deep material and buyer knowledge.

Reporting

- Maintain an account health view: mandate pipeline, GMV, fee realisation, collections and risk accounts.
- Give a monthly revenue forecast for the existing account base.
- Share client feedback with product and operations so the platform and process improve.

How success is measured

- Revenue from existing accounts, year on year growth
- Mandate value per account and number of plants active per client

- Share of revenue under recurring contracts
- Effective fee rate realised against the rate card
- Collections and receivable days
- Account retention and renewal rate
- Escalation closure time

Who we are looking for

Must have

- 12 to 15 years in enterprise key account management, commercial or business development roles with large industrial clients.
- Proven record of growing revenue inside large accounts, with references at plant head, SCM head or CXO level.
- Strong negotiator who is comfortable with contracts, fee structures and commercial clauses.
- Good with numbers. Can read auction data, build an account P&L; view and make a pricing case.
- Has led a small client-facing team.
- Fluent in English and Hindi. Comfortable presenting to senior client leadership.
- Willing to travel to plants across India.

Preferred background

- Industries: metals and scrap trading, industrial services, B2B marketplaces, procurement or e-auction platforms (for example mjunction, MSTC, metal recyclers, steel or pipe companies on the selling side).
- Working knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap, by-products, surplus disposal and plant stores processes.
- Familiarity with GST, e-way bills, PCB authorisation and hazardous or e-waste rules as they apply to material sale.
- MBA preferred.

Traits that matter

- Builds trust with senior people quickly and keeps it over years.
- Owns the outcome. Follows up until the material is lifted and the fee is collected.
- Calm and transparent in escalations.
- Comfortable in a lean, fast-moving team where data and tools are being built as we go.

What we offer

- A senior role with direct access to leadership and a clear mandate to build the commercial function.
- The backing of the Jindal Saw group with the pace of a growth-stage business.
- Compensation in line with market for the level, with a variable component linked to account revenue and collections.
