We are seeking an experienced System Integration HW & SW Test Engineer to qualify Building Management System (BMS) products and solutions, with a particular focus on system-level testing across connected, distributed, and cloud-enabled environments.

The role combines hands-on hardware and software testing with the design and development of physical and hybrid system test environments. The successful candidate will build representative BMS test systems, integrate hardware and software components, develop structured test suites, and execute system-level qualification testing across controllers, field devices, networks, edge components, and cloud-connected services relevant to EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO).

The engineer will work closely with software development, hardware development, system engineering, product management, and certification specialists to identify issues early and ensure that products meet functional, system, integration, connectivity, and quality requirements.

The role will initially have a strong focus on establishing the test environment and performing hands-on testing. Over time, the engineer will help develop repeatable test suites covering both on-premise and cloud-connected workflows, while identifying opportunities for test automation and broader regression coverage.

Integrate hardware, software, controllers, networks, field devices, and other required system components into representative test configurations.

Perform HW/SW system integration testing to verify functionality, interoperability, stability, and expected system behavior.

Reproduce, analyze, document, and communicate defects discovered during system testing.

Work closely with software and hardware development teams to support root-cause investigation and verification of corrections.

Maintain test configurations and ensure that test setups are repeatable and representative of intended product configurations.

Identify opportunities for test automation and develop test cases with automation in mind.

Automate suitable system tests directly or collaborate with software developers and test automation engineers to implement automated testing.

Support formal certification activities by providing tested configurations, test evidence, technical information, and engineering support.

Design, build, configure, and maintain physical and hybrid system integration test environments for BMS products and solutions.

Build, maintain, and expand automated test frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines using C# and Playwright.

Strong hands‑on testing skills across: Event‑driven or streaming architectures, API, microservices, and multi-cloud environments and Security testing of cloud-native applications and APIs

Integrate hardware, software, controllers, networks, field devices, and other required system components into representative test configurations.

Perform HW/SW system integration testing to verify functionality, interoperability, stability, and expected system behavior.

Validate end-to-end behavior across on-premise, edge, network, and cloud-connected parts of the system.

Verify connectivity, reliability, and data flow between local systems and cloud-connected services relevant to EBO.

Support validation of APIs, web services, remote access flows, and connected applications where relevant to the solution.

Reproduce, analyze, document, and communicate defects discovered during system testing.

Work closely with software and hardware development teams to support root-cause investigation and verification of corrections.

Maintain test configurations and ensure that test setups are repeatable and representative of intended product configurations.

Document test results and provide clear evidence of system behavior, quality, and compliance.

Identify opportunities for test automation and develop test cases with automation in mind.

Automate suitable system tests directly or collaborate with software developers and test automation engineers to implement automated testing.

Support validation of cloud-related qualities such as performance, observability, access control, and operational robustness in connected environments.

Experience in system testing, system integration testing, or HW/SW integration testing.

Experience with building/industrial data platforms.

Experience with security frameworks (OWASP, threat modeling, secure SDLC).

Familiarity with semantic data layers such as Brick, Haystack or similar metadata frameworks.

Strong hands-on experience working with systems containing both hardware and software components.

Experience designing, setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting physical test systems.

Experience testing distributed or cloud-connected systems.

Experience developing test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test reports.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across hardware, software, communication, network, and system boundaries.

Understanding of the network technologies and connectivity environments in which BMS systems operate.

Familiarity with APIs, web services, and integration points between local systems and cloud-connected services.

Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with hardware engineers, software developers, system engineers, and certification specialists.

Good English communication skills, both spoken and written, including the ability to clearly document test procedures, results,

issues, and technical findings.

A robust and representative physical and hybrid system test environment is established and maintained.

Cloud-connected and distributed system behaviors are systematically tested before release.

Test cases covering local, networked, and cloud-connected workflows are documented, repeatable, and traceable.

Test suites evolve from individual manual tests into structured and reusable system test suites.

Suitable tests are progressively automated, reducing repetitive manual testing and improving regression-test coverage.

Software, hardware, systems, and connected-services teams have a common understanding of product readiness and remaining technical risks.

Product releases become more predictable because issues are discovered during internal qualification across both on-premise and cloud-connected environments.
