We are hiring a hands-on technician to look after our recording devices and the footage they produce. You will make sure every SD card from the field is copied, checked and uploaded safely to the cloud, and you will keep our stereo and mono cameras charged, working and ready to deploy. This is a good role for someone with an electronics background who is careful, organised and comfortable with computers.
Key Responsibilities
Data upload
- Receive SD cards from field teams and log each one (device ID, date, site, operator) in our tracking sheet.
- Copy footage from the SD cards to a workstation and upload it to Google Cloud Storage using the tools and scripts we provide.
- Check that each upload is complete: file counts and sizes match the card, and no files are missing or empty.
- Do basic quality checks on the footage: it plays, the length looks right, date and time are correct, and both left and right streams are present for stereo devices.
- Format and return cards only after the upload has been checked.
- Report uploads, hours of footage and any problems at the end of each day.
Device maintenance
- Test, charge and prepare stereo and mono recording devices before they go out to the field.
- Check battery health, card slots, cables, mounts, lenses and date/time settings.
- Find and fix basic faults: devices that won’t power on, recording failures, loose connectors, damaged cables and swollen batteries.
- Do minor repairs such as soldering and replacing connectors, cables and batteries, and escalate anything bigger.
- Keep an inventory of devices, SD cards, batteries and chargers.
Requirements
- Diploma, ITI, B.Sc. or B.E. in Electronics, ECE, EEE or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Basic electronics skills: using a multimeter, soldering, and working with batteries and power supplies.
- Comfortable with computers: managing files and folders, copying large amounts of data, and using Windows.
- Basic Excel or Google Sheets.
- Very careful with data. A lost card means lost work, so you check everything twice.
- Able to communicate in [English / Hindi / Kannada].
Good to Have
- Experience with action cameras, CCTV, dashcams or other video recording devices.
- Some exposure to Google Cloud, Google Drive or other cloud storage.
- Basic command line use (Windows or Linux).
- Any experience with Python or scripting.
What We Offer
- Free accommodation and food provided.
- Full training on our devices, tools and upload process.
- Hands-on experience with AI and robotics data operations.
- Room to grow into data operations, field operations or technical roles.
Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
Perks:
- Commuter assistance
- Food provided
- Paid sick time
- Paid time off
Work Location: In person
