Bijay Pustak Bhandar Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented DTP Operator (Desktop Publishing Staff) to join our publishing team. In this role, you will be responsible for converting manuscripts, draft scripts, and authors' handwritten or typed copies into professionally formatted books, educational materials, cover pages, and promotional prints.

The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in page layout software, multilingual typing (Bengali, Hindi, and English), accurate typesetting, and print-ready document preparation.

- Key Responsibilities Page Layout & Typesetting Format books, educational workbooks, exam preparation guides, and catalog pages according to publishing standards.
- Perform typesetting, font alignment, margin setting, table generation, and page numbering.
- Ensure clear hierarchy across headings, subheadings, headers, footers, and index pages.
- Multilingual Typing & EditingProcess and type copy in Bengali, Hindi, and English with high speed and accuracy.
- Input mathematical equations, scientific diagrams, tables, and complex formatting structures for academic books.
- Incorporate corrections and edits provided by proofreaders and authors accurately and efficiently.
- Visual & Graphic FormattingClean, retouch, and format images, vector illustrations, and book cover layouts.
- Collaborate with graphic designers to embed charts, maps,



and diagrams seamlessly into page spreads.
- Pre-Press & Quality ControlConduct final checks for page layout symmetry, font consistency, orphan lines, and pagination errors.
- Export files into high-resolution, print-ready PDF formats adhering to offset printing specifications.
- Maintain organized digital archives of print files, source documents, fonts, and graphical assets.
- Qualifications & SkillsEducation: Higher Secondary (10+2) required; Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Desktop Publishing / Graphic Design is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of hands-on DTP experience in a publishing house, printing press, or bookstore setting.
- Technical ProficiencySoftware: High proficiency in Adobe InDesign, CorelDRAW, Adobe Photoshop, and MS Office (Word/Excel). Knowledge of PageMaker is an advantage.
- Language/Typing Tools: Fluent typing in Bengali (Avro / Bijoy / Unicode), Hindi (Krutidev / Unicode), and English with strong speed (35+ WPM) and minimal error rates.
- Core Competencies Excellent attention to detail and sharp eye for layout aesthetics, spacing, and typography.
- Strong understanding of pre-press production requirements (bleed, margins, CMYK color profiles, vector vs. raster graphics).
- Ability to work effectively under tight production deadlines while managing multiple book projects.
