Job Description: Data Engineer Cloud Migration

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with 3+ years of experience in data engineering and cloud-based data migration. The ideal candidate should have solid hands-on experience with Google Big Query, Python, SQL, and Airflow/Cloud Composer, along with the ability to develop and support data pipelines, execute migration activities, and provide production support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Engineering & Cloud Migration

- Design, develop, maintain, and support data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Google Big Query.

- Develop and manage ETL/ELT workflows to support data integration and migration activities.

- Perform data testing, validation, deployment, and migration cutover activities.

- Coordinate with offshore team members to ensure timely execution and delivery of assigned tasks.

2. Operations & Production Support

- Provide production support and participate in incident investigation and resolution.

- Support critical deployments, production issues, and business-critical activities as required.

- Monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot failures to ensure smooth and reliable operations.

3. Communication & Accountability

- Provide timely, accurate, and proactive status updates on assignments,



milestones, and deliverables.

- Identify and escalate risks, issues, and blockers at an early stage.

- Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and effective follow-through on assigned responsibilities.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering.

- Strong hands-on proficiency in:

- Google Big Query

- Python

- SQL

- Apache Airflow / Google Cloud Composer

- Git and version control

- Experience in developing and supporting ETL/ELT data pipelines.

- Understanding of cloud-based data engineering and migration processes.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Hands-on experience in cloud data migration and pipeline development.

- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and support time-sensitive deployments.

- Comfortable collaborating with distributed and offshore teams.
