Deutsche Post is the oldest and founding division of DHL Group and represents the domestic mail and parcel business in Germany. With around 180,000 employees, Deutsche Post is responsible for reliable nationwide delivery of postal items and parcels and plays a key role in connecting people and businesses across Germany. As part of DHL Group, Deutsche Post combines long-standing postal expertise with continuous innovation and automation in its domestic operations.

Deutsche Post is committed to continuously modernizing and further automating its mail production processes. A key focus area in this transformation is the advancement of video coding, which ensures that postal items can still be processed reliably when automated sorting systems are unable to read address information. A Video Coder of Deutsche Post is responsible for manually entering address information for postal items when the automated sorting system cannot read or recognize or reject the data. The work is performed at a computer workstation, where images of postal items are displayed on screen.

In scope are solely postal items with German addresses.





Key Responsibilities

- Review on‑screen images of postal items whose address data could not be captured by the sorting machine due to various reasons. There is a need to visually inspect each image which the automated sorting system cannot map. Based on need, use zoom and other navigational tools to enlarge and manually enter the right address data.
- Identify and type in key address details, including first name, last name, street, house number, postal code (ZIP), and city
- Locate and zoom into the area of interest on the image to clearly read the address when necessary.
- Determine when an address cannot be completed (e.g., missing postal code) and mark the item as “not fully codable.”
- Identify items that are entirely unreadable or unsuitable for processing and classify them as “uncodable.”
- Ensure data is entered accurately and efficiently to support smooth mail processing.
- Use only internally approved tools, systems, and workflows, and strictly adhere to all procedures defined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) at all times
- Strictly comply with established data security and confidentiality guidelines when handling postal data, including during access, processing, storage, and transmission.




- Communicate operational issues promptly to minimize processing delays.
- Maintain required productivity and accuracy benchmarks as defined by operational KPIs.
- Support quality audits and corrective actions when required.

Required Skills

- Bachelor degree – score >60%
- Strong typewriting skills with high accuracy.
- Fluent English language skills (reading and typing).
- German language skills are beneficial but not required (typing German address information does not require German language proficiency).
- Positive attention to detail and the ability to recognize address formats.
- Ability to work reliably at a screen-based workstation.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Working Conditions

- Schedule: Standard Indian business hours.
- Work Options: Onsite only.
- Global Coverage: May require occasional work outside standard hours.
- Performance Metrics: Success measured by response time, resolution rate, and customer satisfaction scores.
