Bengaluru

We’re looking for QA engineers who enjoy hunting down the one edge case nobody thought of, tracing a failure from the UI all the way down to a sensor or actuator, or building automation that catches bugs while everyone else is asleep, you’ll fit right in.

We’re building the software that powers surgical robotics at Articulus Surgical, where reliability, precision, and thoughtful engineering matter.

As a Software QA Engineer, you’ll design and execute testing strategies across software, robotics, and integrated medical-device systems, working closely with Software, Robotics, Embedded, Systems, and Clinical teams to find defects early and make sure every release is truly ready.

What you’ll actually be doing

- Developing and executing functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end test cases for robotic and medical-device software.
- Testing across individual software components as well as complete integrated robotic systems.
- Identifying, reproducing, documenting, tracking, and verifying defects through their complete lifecycle.
- Performing hardware-software integration testing across robotic systems, embedded controllers, sensors, actuators, and associated software.
- Building and maintaining automated testing frameworks, scripts, and test utilities to improve coverage and efficiency.
- Conducting API, performance, reliability, stability, endurance, and stress testing wherever applicable.
- Validating software against functional and technical requirements, and maintaining requirement-to-test traceability.
- Designing test scenarios covering normal, boundary, failure, recovery, and safety-critical conditions.

- Supporting verification and validation for new features, system changes, and product releases.
- Maintaining QA documentation, including test plans, test cases, execution reports, defect reports, traceability matrices, and release validation records.
- Supporting release qualification and providing QA inputs for go/no-go release decisions.
- Participating in root-cause analysis of critical defects and contributing to corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborating with Software, Robotics, Embedded, Systems, and Clinical teams to understand requirements and resolve issues.
- Continuously improving test coverage, automation, QA processes, and software quality.
- Helping build a structured, scalable software verification and validation framework as our products mature.

Who we’re looking for

- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
- You have experience in software quality assurance, software testing, system testing, or validation.
- You have a strong understanding of software testing methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
- You’ve got hands-on experience creating detailed test cases, executing test plans, and managing software defects.

- You can write test automation and scripts in Python, C++, Java, or similar.
- You understand API, integration, performance, and regression testing.
- You can troubleshoot issues across software and hardware interfaces.
- You’re familiar with tools like Jira, Git, Postman, Selenium, PyTest, or equivalents (an advantage).
- You’re analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, cross-functional product development workplace.
- You’re curious and persistent, the kind of person who wants to understand why something failed rather than simply log it and move on.

Good to have

- Experience with robotics, medical devices, embedded systems, or safety-critical systems.
- Exposure to robotic operating systems, communication protocols, sensors, actuators, or real-time systems.
- Experience testing hardware-software integrated systems.
- Knowledge of V&V; practices for regulated products, and familiarity with IEC 62304, ISO 14971, or related frameworks.
- Experience building automated testing infrastructure from the ground up.
- Experience with continuous integration / continuous testing environments.

What you get

- Real ownership of quality for software that goes into surgical and clinical environments.
- The opportunity to work at the intersection of Software, Robotics, Embedded Systems, Medical Devices, and Clinical Applications.
- A front-row seat to building a V&V; framework from the ground up as our products mature.
- A team that values curiosity, rigor, and engineers who want to test, break, debug, and build better.
