Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with strong expertise in IBM Power Systems, IBM i (AS/400), AIX, storage, backup, and high availability solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing enterprise infrastructure, troubleshooting complex issues, ensuring system availability, and supporting disaster recovery operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot IBM i (AS/400), AIX, and IBM Power Systems environments.
- Manage IBM PowerVM virtualization, HMC, VIOS, LPARs, NPIV, vSCSI, and Live Partition Mobility.
- Administer high availability solutions, including PowerHA, MIMIX, and SAN replication.
- Manage enterprise storage infrastructure, including IBM FlashSystem, Dell EMC, NetApp, and SAN switches.
- Perform OS patching, upgrades, performance tuning, security hardening, and capacity planning.
- Administer backup and recovery solutions, including IBM BRMS, mksysb,



savevg, and tape libraries.
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and restoration activities.
- Troubleshoot critical infrastructure incidents and provide L3 technical support.
- Automate administrative tasks using Shell scripting, Python, or Ansible.
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and infrastructure procedures.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience with IBM Power Systems environments.
- Robust expertise in IBM i (AS/400) and AIX administration.
- Hands-on experience with IBM PowerVM, HMC, VIOS, and LPAR management.
- Experience with PowerHA, MIMIX, and high availability/replication solutions.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise SAN storage, Fibre Channel, and storage replication.
- Experience with IBM BRMS, enterprise backup, and disaster recovery.
- Proficiency in AIX LVM, JFS2, system performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience handling enterprise infrastructure incidents and production support.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

- IBM FlashSystem, SAN Volume Controller, Dell EMC, and NetApp storage.
- Brocade or Cisco MDS SAN switches.
- Ansible, KornShell, Bash, Perl, or Python scripting.
- Db2 for i administration and performance monitoring.
- ServiceNow, Jira, and ITIL processes.
- Experience with SOX, PCI-DSS, and infrastructure security compliance.
- Ideal Candidate: A senior IBM Power Systems professional with 10+ years of experience in IBM i, AIX, virtualization, high availability, enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery, capable of independently managing complex production infrastructure.
